I missed Mamas simmer pot. I missed the scent of apples and cinnamon that would wash through the house, waking up me and Aunt Grace. But… when I woke up on July 14th, 1967 there was something wrong.
There was no simmer pot, and there was no Mama. At least… not the Mama I knew and loved.
