“Shut up.” Logan swatted vaguely at the air in Wade’s general direction, still not looking at him in favor of studying the label.
“No? Well, if you want to keep your pristine reputation intact, fess up.” Wade leaned up off the couch to loom over Logan expectantly. He didn’t buckle.
“Al gave me a gummy. Never had one before. I don’t feel anything yet.”
That was when Wade’s evening went from good to great.

Liking Wade snuck up on Logan so stealthily he considered getting his eyes checked. Now, here he was, in up to his neck, and shit, it’d been so long since he’d gone for a swim. He felt like he’d rust.
Dammit, that song Wade kept singing was right. He’d have to stop the world just to stop the feeling.

Summary
Although he’d heard it many times, there was something about this particular growl that was different from all of the snarls he’d received from Logan in the past. It was softer, a gentle rolling. It didn’t hold the usual overflow of rage. Wade slowly let his arm lower. Logan didn’t react.
And then, it happened again. A little bit longer this time. An inhale, and then that low grumble on the exhale. Wade began to retract his arm, and it happened a third time. He was almost free when it hit him.
That wasn’t growling. For once in his life, Logan wasn’t angry.
It was purring.
