Summary
Light seems opposite himself, reflexes reversed, and memories missing. He has this wide-eyed innocence too fallible to be feigned. It’s like someone scooped out a chunk of him and his mind, in the rush to repair itself, got a few things wrong.
Namely, his reaction to pain.
Removing his memories of the Death Note made Light a masochist. L tests this hypothesis.

L stretches across the bed, and Light, whose homosexual desires are contrived, feels no temptation to peek at his navel or the dark hair leading into his waistband. “Alright, well, congratulations on your discovery.”
