“Hold on for me, huh, Mac?” Jack tells him, and he swallows his own burning emotions when he sees a tear track a clear path down Mac’s bloodied and dirtied cheek. Jack casually slips the hand on Mac’s head down, cradling his cheek. His thumb brushes away the tear, using the leverage to tilt Mac’s lax head towards and upwards to him. “Gotta stay with me, Mac, you ain’t leavin’ without me, man, you know that.”

There’s been thousands of times, especially back before when Bozer didn’t actually know what Mac and the others did for a living, and he’d make the costumes and outfits for the film sets and had needed someone to help with the styling and seeing how the fabrics would look draped on an actual human body. That had been where Mac had come in, having done this since they were kids.
