Summary
Jason took a quick breath to steady his nerves (Sure, he liked playing for Leo, but it still made his hands a little clammy. Sue him.) and shot a quick prayer to Venus. Please, let him take the hint.
He pressed down on the strings in a modified G chord that his fingers still didn’t really like and started strumming. Down, down-up, down, down-up, he recited to himself a few times before moving to the C chord and continuing the rhythm, then back to G and down to D7 and back to G. Each pass got faster and faster until he broke rhythm, failing to stick the landing on the G. He flicked his gaze up to Leo, who was watching him with the same rapt attention as always, and he felt his mouth twitch up into a smile as he restarted the melody.

Jason and Leo have a moment of peace together in the midst of trying to save the world. Jason's prayers go unanswered, yet again, but he doesn't really mind too much

The back of his neck prickled and his hairs stood on end. Someone was watching him.
He flicked his gaze up to see Jason sitting across the table from him. He had his chin cupped in both hands and an almost drunken smile was curled across his flushed cheeks. His eyes were half-lidded and sparkling in a dopey kind of way, but Leo could practically see the love hearts in them anyway. His chest suddenly felt a little tighter and he bit his lower lip trying to hide his own smile. “And just what do you think you’re doing?”
“Admiring fine art,” Jason said immediately, tone matter of fact and completely shameless.
Leo choked and spluttered for a moment, cheeks vermillion. “Jason!”
“Yes?”
“You can’t just say stuff like that, oh my god,” Leo chided half-heartedly. “That is, like, the cheesiest thing I've ever heard and you've said a lot of cheesy shit.”
Jason widened his eyes, face softening with earnestness. “Oh, are you lactose intolerant? I’m sorry. You never told me that.”

“I just wanted to go to the movies,” Leo seethed, writhing furiously in his bonds. “Thought it might be fun to make out with my boyfriend in the back row while some stupid action movie played. But NOOO, you had to go and be all noble. ‘Oh, Leo, we have to help! We're heroes! Never mind the fact that the last time we helped someone, I went and got myself fucking skewered by a deranged Roman emperor who was named after his stupid fucking boots!’ Now look at us! We could be in a dark room swapping spit like a couple of normal hormonal teenagers, but instead we're hanging upside down from the rafters like some stupid bats!”
Jason wrinkled his nose. “I hate when you call kissing swapping spit. It sounds gross.”
“Shut up! I'm not talking to you!”
