Summary
Killua's in the business of swapping bodies with the close subjects of assassination targets. He lives in a future where 90% of the world's population has their mind stored in a disk attached to their vertebrae, but as he soon finds out, a party of individuals on the abandoned West Coast of the Republic are seeking to end all use of vertebrae tech—thereby annihilating 90% of the world's population to start over again. The leader of this anti-disk rebellion is Chrollo Lucilfer, and the only way to stop him is to swap bodies with the one disk-user nearest him.
Gon Freecss is the one and only AI in an artificial human body built by vertebrae-tech inventor and founder, Ging Freecss. Born and raised by Chrollo Lucilfer, Gon has the literal key to the Republic: the master vertebrae disk made by Ging himself. When Killua swaps bodies with him, Gon takes that power with him and uses it to help Alluka and him escape the Zoldyck compound and travel in search of his original body.
Meanwhile, Killua has Hell to pay, and Chrollo's charging extra.
