She continued the short walk up to the second floor, movements becoming more and more sluggish with each step. She caught movement in the corner of eye and yelped. She slapped a hand over her mouth and stumbled backwards on the step until her back hit the wall. Her eyes were pinched closed, not wanting to watch whatever was about to happen…
But the pain never came.
She whimpered, eyes peeling open once more only to see a black feather gently floating down the center of the stairwell.

He scribbled the thoughts into his diary as a way to get them out of his head and hopefully forget them but it never worked. He filled pages upon pages with words, tried his best to name every ache and pain and then let them go but it only seemed to make it worse. He started to realize how much of that pain he was really holding onto, how much of it wouldn’t go away no matter what he tried. The thought of living with it forever made his chest burn.

Who in their right mind would want a painting signed by someone named Uranus?
He dropped his hands into his lap with a sigh. He didn’t know why he had expected anything else, why he thought that somehow he’d sell a painting or two. He turned on his chair and observed the canvases hanging around him. He noticed that one of them had somehow gotten knocked out of place. He stood and walked over to the landscape painting, adjusting it until the edges were parallel with the adjacent canvases. He ran his fingers along the edge and sighed before dropping his hand back to his side.

Relaxed and happy from her shower, Uranus dropped onto the couch next to Saturn, one hand tugging gently at her still-damp braid. “If you want to shower before we go to sleep, you can,” she said, lolling her head to the side and glancing at her. “I’m done.”
“Oh, I had a better idea,” Saturn said, smile wicked, her eyes boring into her own.
Her hand crept closer, nudging against her thigh, and Uranus sat up, her nerves lighting up. “Do you mean—?"
