Chapter Text
The boy snarled, his blue eyes flickering to a snake-like yellow behind his long black bangs as he glared down at the phone clutched in his hand. “Come on, Benji. Pick up…” Panic flickered in his chest.
His tall blond companion leaned against the wall next to him. “So who’s this Benji, and why are you so worried about him?”
“I’m not worried,” the boy snapped, shoving him. “He can fend for himself. I’m sure of it.” After all, Benji had survived the nogitsune. He had survived the Trials. Hell, he had even survived his dad. Benjamin Alexander-Carmichael was, without a doubt, one of the most intelligent and paranoid people the boy had ever met.
There was no way he wouldn’t survive.
The cell phone buzzed. The boy’s eyes locked onto the screen, his lips tightening as he read the message. He looked over to his companion. “What do you know about Scott McCall?”
The blond froze slightly, before forcing himself to relax. He crossed his arms. “I knew him, back in the day. The True Alpha.” He spat the last bit out, looking disgusted. His eyes looked pained as he looked down to the boy. “Why do you ask?”
The boy frowned before holding out his phone. The blond read the screen, his face darkening. “So this Benji. He’s been taken in by Scott? And that dumbass sent him to Beacon Hills?!” His voice was filled with horror. The man ran his fingers through his curls, the blue in his eyes darkening almost to black.
“Beacon Hills?” the boy asked, fingers flying across the keyboard as he began to Google. “What’s wrong with a small town in California?”
“The problem,” the blond hissed, “is that your Benji’s gonna be killed within a month in that town. If he isn’t dead already.” He pushed himself off the wall and began stalking towards the car he had parked somewhat illegally in front of the alleyway where they had been standing.
“Where are we going?” the boy asked, pushing his hair out of his face as he hurried to catch up to his mentor.
“Where else?” the blond scoffed, flinging open the driver's side door.
“We’re going back to Beacon Hills.”
