Forest had gotten his leg frozen after that little incident.
The blue hedgehog wasn't pleased at all,getting the ice off had taken a whole day after,Shadow being send to his room for two days,the black hedgehog had felt incredibly guilty.
Chris,despite his rising flu,had gotten to helping Forest with the ice,Cream and Cheese being his helpers.
In the end,Shadow apologised,Forest accepted it.
(He really hates those puppy dog eyes)
With Chris not getting better,the human had only concentrated on the prototype,to the dismay of Forest,he hadn't really gotten the other outside of his room.
Forest has not been in a great mood since.
The portal had been gathering dust.
The old human sighed,running a hand through his grey hair.
The storage room he was in was massive,any sound echoing.
He looked at the boxes he has dragged in.
He knew the kid wanted nothing to do with them anymore,but the human just had some sort of feeling.
He has worked on the portal since then,the feeling growing as the months went by,it has been a year and a half since his grandson left Earth for good.
"One last gift"he muttered,he looked at the mini fortress he had gotten the materials to make from pulling some strings.
In another planet,dying slowly,Vanilla shielded her eyes as the spot where Master Emerald once stood glowed brightly,when she could look again she gasped at the boxes that now stood,aswell as the aeriel machine not far below.
Chris frowned as he held open a box,several others standing outside his room,box cutter on the floor beside him.
"Can't believe it.."he murmured to himself.
The Chaotix had found them,with a whole package delivery for Chris,the human was shocked to say the least.
He reached for the tea on his desk,sipping on it,a thoughtfull expression on his face.
Some of the things he'd looked inside were usefull,some usefull in other ways that weren't for building things.
He put the half finished cup back on his desk,blinking as he reached inside the box,he took out a..book?
"What in the actual.."he stopped as he read the title.
Blue eyes widened.
He turned it to read the back, something written on it in marker.
He recognised the writting style,even if it has been years since he's seen it.
The door to his room opened,Charmy bringing it the last box.
"Last one!—Eh,are you okay?"the bee asked as he dropped the box with the rest in the corner,orange eyes blinking rappidly.
The humans face was bright red,looking at the book he held.
The bee flew out the room after a awkward pause.
"Sheesh,what got him so red?"the mobian wondered curiously as he flew back to where Vector and Espio were waiting.
The Chaotix left,Cream happyly letting them take a picture of her for Vanilla to see her daughters was doing fine.
Sonic yawned into his hand,glasses falling to the side.
The hammock he was in rocked left and right slowly,leaving him drowsy.
His room was mostly empty as Sonic didn't stay in one place for too long,this room was actually his fith one,he liked changing it randomly at times.
Forest has been giving him harsher glares than usual because of this,being subjected to finding Sonic when someone needed him.
He opened a grey eye as his room door opened,revealing Amy.
"There you are,hungry?"that got his attention fast.
Amy was in charge of the food,their chef so to say,she had grown to be amazing in the kitchen,before the Metarex had appeared,the pink hedgehog had been planning to open up a restaurant.
Her helper had been Chris,but since the human wasn't available,Cream and Cheese had taken to the role.
Sonic got out of his hammock,adjusting his glasses as they almost slipped off.
Cosmo blinked as a blue blurr went past her,she continued walking down the long hallway.
Today she decided to explore the back of the fortress,she might be a little lost though, maybe if she stuck to the left wall she'll make it back?
She flinched as suddenly a blue hedgehog was right infront of her,green eyes looking down at her.
"Oh..Forest"the Seedrian felt on edge now,she didn't really want to be alone with him..but she was lost,so maybe he can help her?
"Um,i wanted to explore and..got a bit lost.."
A black glove rested on the plants head suddenly,she froze,then her head was turned back to where she had been walking away from.
"Oh..is..is it that way?"she mumbled,looking down at the floor,the hand left her head.
The hedgehog dashed away.
The Seedrian calmed her beating heart,that had been a..interesting reaction.
Although..she swore she saw something in those green eyes,they had been analysing her.
She took to the advice she was given,ending back to the control room.
Shadow looked himself in the mirror in his room,wearing a rainbow patterned jacket.
He took it off,putting it back into his closet and taking another one out to try on.
He wanted something else today,he loved white of course,but he was in a diferent kind of mood today.
The jackets in his closet were mostly bought,some had been given to him by Vanilla,only one being knitted by the rabbit,a cream colored one,given to him last year for his birthday.
The original white jacket Chris had given to him was in the wash so Shadow had to wear something diferent.
He remembers the white cap he once wore,it had been left behind home,the black hedgehog hadn't worn it in years,but he felt frustrated for leaving it.
He shook his head.
He was getting distracted.
He put on the black jacket with white star patterns.
Knuckles rubbed the Master Emerald with a towel,cleaning it,he did this alot to pass the time.
He looked behind his shoulder as the door to the room opened.
"What could you be doing here"the echidna glared at Sonic,the hedgehog laughed.
"Ah,i can't keep you company now?"he jumped ontop the Master Emerald,ignoring the intensified glare he got,Sonic sat down,getting comfortable.
"Are you just gonna be annoying?"
"Maybe"
Despite that,Sonic stayed quiet after, Knuckles continued his cleaning, sometimes giving the hedgehog looks.
