Chapter Text
Shit .
Was the one word going around all of their minds.
"Bat!" Tsunade snapped.
The girl straightened under her boss's attention, ready for her every order.
"Can you sense anything? Also, both of you, hide your chakra. We don't know if we're in enemy territory." Their Hokage ordered.
Tsunade felt the two young shinobis' chakra signatures blink out of existence, and if she wasn't currently looking at them, she'd think there was no one there.
She could still sense some of the seal's and their own lingering chakra in the area, but they didn't use any flashy jutsu (outside of the probable time travel? What the hell?) seal. Their chakra should fade within the day and won't be recognisable after a few hours.
Focusing, the Hokage could just barely feel Sasuke's chakra curled in on itself. She couldn't find a whisp of Shikako's chakra. Genius girl that one.
They didn't know where (when?) they were.
Returning to Konoha, whatever state it might be in, is their best bet, even if they don't reveal themselves.
Tsunade groaned. How? Just... How is this my life?
Bat and Hawk didn't even have the decency to look put-out.
The silence stretched before Bat answered, "No immediate hostiles in the area. There are two large chakra signatures at the edge of my range northeast from here, but I cannot distinguish anything else from this distance. Their chakra signatures indicate they are strong and don't fear anyone sensing them. Their signatures block out any other signatures in the area, but there do seem to be other shinobi surrounding them. I would not be able to recognise any familiar signatures from this distance. They are... concerningly close to the direction of the village."
"We are returning to Konoha." the Godaime commanded her ANBU. If there really were two powerhouses so close to Konoha, it was better to know what they were up against, not to mention that the village was vulnerable without its Hokage (if there even was a village at the moment.)
Then they were off. Leaving no trace of the direction they headed.
Hopefully the sake survived whatever seal shenanigan occurred. Otherwise, Tsunade was breaking something.

Sasuke was stuck in the room they paid for above an inn.
Apparently, his distinctly Uchiha features were a setback in any undercover situation in any era... especially the Warring Clans Era. While most people would not automatically jump to the conclusion of Uchiha when seeing a black-haired and coal-eyed teen, it was better not to tempt fate.
Team 7 luck would NOT disappoint in causing the most chaos possible.
And the three time travellers did not need rumours of an Uchiha bastard running rampant. That would just bring the whole clan down on their heads. And with their luck, quite possibly drag the Senju with them.
Yeah. Also.
They were in the fucking Warrinf Clans Era.
You know, with Madara mad-as-a-stick-but-powerful-as-fuck-what-a-disastrous-combination Uchiha.
Shikako was the most discreet of the three of them, despite the fact that she was a young girl 'running errands for her aunt'.
Technically, Tsunade would be the most sensible option to take care of their outside needs. Unfortunately, Sasuke was one of the first to admit that the Godaime... had a bit of a drinking problem. So, to make sure she didn't drink herself dry and accidentally crush the skull of a poor fool who insulted her, Shikako tagged along.
Actually... that's not quite true, Tsunade was the Godaime Hokage for a reason after all. And she knew the seriousness of the mission so she probably wouldn't drink any alcohol. Still... there was a reason Jiraiya was the spy master of Konoha. And a short temper is on the top of that list.
Sasuke sighed.
Hopefully, Kako would be back soon so they can continue working on the seal to return home.
It would be much faster if they could ask the Niidaime for help, it would've most certainly made Kako's year to work with the guys. But once again... Sasuke.
Unfortunately, Senju Tobirama would definitely sense Sasuke was an Uchiha in close proximity.
And since none of them wanted a shish-kababed Sasuke, contacting the Niidaime was plan F.
Shikako also mentioned something about preserving the timeline...? Anyway, Sasuke would rather not touch that with a ten-foot pool if he wasn't already in the centre of it.
The bare cliff was so weird, Sasuke remembered the lack of stone faces they found in the place Konoha was supposed to be.
Hopefully, they'll be back soon. Without any complications or anyone recognising Sasuke as an Uchiha.

Kuro was sure of it.
That woman (and perhaps the girl as well?) was a Senju.
The blond hair threw him off a bit. But that face was a Senju if he ever saw one. He remembered Senju Butsama quite clearly despite only ever seeing the man from afar, and that face was just so similar it couldn't be a coincidence.
Why would a Senju be so far into Uchiha territory?
The woman looked young. Could she be a bastard? Or was she an undercover shinobi? A woman travelling alone was suspicious, and with a teen girl nonetheless. Perhaps it was nothing. He heard of the strict new rules imposed by both the new Uchiha and Senju clan Heads. Kids were not allowed on the battlefield, and it was exceedingly rare to see them on missions in enemy territory.
It might be nothing.
But a letter to the Uchiha asking them to check out possible sabotage might be the best option.
Maybe he should ask around too.
Kuro could never keep his nose out of shinobi business. They were loyal customers after all.
