Work Text:
Tony wasn’t having a good day. No, scratch that he wasn’t having a good time since he had gotten stuck on Earth, year 2007. His Tardis decided to shut herself off. Well, he could enter and exit. His room also was intact but the damned ship would not budge. Not even a millimeter. So Tony did what every (in)sane time traveler would do. Blend in.
He was now Antony Tyler, 23, a medical student. And it wasn’t bad, certainly could have been worse. But it was just so dull when all of time and space danced around him. He sighed as he put his white coat on. At least being a med student was nice, he got to help people and study human anatomy. He was half human after all, it could be useful one day.
He stepped outside of the dressing room to join his fellow students. As he passed through the corridor he hit a black leather clad man who pushed him harshly. He didn’t retaliate but… Whatever this weird mood that had been going around with people had to be because of the plasma thingies outside the hospital. Which should have been concerning but he was really bored. And plasma coils meant aliens or Torchwood. Honestly he was so bored that even Torchwood didn’t sound bad.
“Hey Tony!” Martha greeted him. He grinned at her. It was weird seeing aunt Martha so young and her hair without the braids. “Hey yourself.”
She grinned back as they joined the others at Mrs. Finnegan’s side. Their teacher, who in his humble opinion was a man with an ego but his heart was in the right place, that's why Tony kept silent in most of his lessons. A little mercy for Mr. Stoker.
Mr. Stoker ,their teacher, questioned them asking if they had any idea what Mrs. Finnigan’s trouble was. Which honestly was obvious, her symptom was simple and considering her previous visits it probably was a salt deficiency or something. But his classmates had different ideas that certainly did not amuse their teacher. In the end he was right, it was a salt deficiency.
They moved on to the next bed as Mr. Stoker opened the curtains. And Tony sucked a breath. There it was, two identical chocolate eyes staring at each other. No wonder he had been more restless and anxious today. He was a fool, he should have noticed his father’s presence. No, not his father yet. Too young… He took a step back ignoring the confused stared his fellow students gave before rushing out of the room as quiet as he could. He would make some stupid excuses to Mr. Stoker later. He had more pressing problem like meeting a younger dad.
He rushed to the toilet and locked the door. TARDIS had brought him here. But his father was here, well not father yet. But his mother? Where was she? And TARDIS brought him here before his father was his father but aunt Martha met dad after mom so… His mind raced frantically as the ground began to shake, the plasma coils finally starting to work.
Oh… So it had started. Damn it! So why was he supposed to meet Dad in these circumstances? He took a deep breath as the shaking deceased. He shook his head, time to worry about it later. He was a Time Lord for Rassillion’s sake. Whatever happened to this hospital should be his priority. He stepped out of the toilet only to be greeted by people screaming. He rolled his eyes, classic humans, they never changed. Scream at any fright which was great for calming their nerves.
Tony rolled his eyes before hurriedly starting to instruct people to their beds, alerting other doctors to keep calm and assist the patients. Then he saw Martha as she too tried to calm the people down. He went next to her, pulling her attention towards the windows. Her eyes widened as approached the windows and stood still for a moment to take in the sight.
He walked next to her.
“We are on the moon.”she said, her voice filled with awe.
He grinned. First of many moons his aunt would stand on.
“It’s real… It’s really real” her eyes sparkled as she tried to reach the windows in an attempt to open them. Her friend held her arms as if she was crazy. She wasn’t crazy. No, not at all. If anything she was the opposite, even in this dire situation she could reason that the windows were not exactly airtight. No they certainly were not… A force field most likely.
“We’ll lose all the air.” Their teary eyed friend cried out as she held onto Martha.
“They are not exactly air tight. If the air was going to be sucked out it would have been done with it.” She explained calmly and brilliantly. His aunt was a brilliant woman after all.
He joined in “But it didn’t. Which begs the question. Why?”
Martha looked at him suspiciously but her attention shifted to the curtains which were pulled by dad. Revealing his blue suit that mom loved so much. “Very good point the two if you!” He had a huge grin but Tony looked at him carefully. He was sad Tony realized, whatever that was happening now was distracting him but his grief was seeping through his own head. Telepathy… He needed to be more careful.
“In fact-“ his dad continued “Your names?”
“Martha…”
“Ahhh Jones… Right?” Dad flashed her a smile. Then looked at him expectantly and stopped. He looked at Tony more carefully.
“Ah- I am Tony.” He finally mumbled.
The doctor, he wasn’t dad yet Tony forced himself to remember, took a step towards them. “So the question is: How are we still breathing?” He had a curious look as he gazed upon the windows. Tony too looked outside, plasma stuff, the rain… Everything was piecing together he just needed to confirm.
“But we can’t!” Exclaimed Martha’s friend.
The Doctor rolled his eyes. “We obviously are so don’t waste my time.” He turned his gaze towards him and Martha.
“Well then Martha, Tony does this hospital have any balcony- veranda or something like that?”
“Yeah, there is a patient balcony on this floor.” Martha answered.
The Doctor looked at them “Care to go out.” His gaze turned serious but also that familiar lust for adventure sparked.
Tony grinned “Sure, let’s go.”
“We might die.” Doctor said
“We might not die.” Martha replied.
Doctor gave an approving smile “Good, Come on!” He started walking “Oh, only you two, leave the crying one here, she’ll slow us down.”
Tony and Martha grinned at each other “Is this real?” Martha mouthed “Very real.” He winked back.
Martha’s friend gave a sob as they followed the doctor to the balcony. Doctor grabbed the nob and opened the doors revealing the stunning view of the Earth. A smile bloomed on his face. No matter how many times he saw the Earth it still made him warm that a part of him belonged to this planet, no matter how primitive it was. Something he might never get to experience with his other half.
“Oh my god! We are really breathing! How does that work?” Martha exclaimed, looking amazed.
Doctor rolled his eyes “Just be glad it works.”
“Yes, but there must be something keeping the air in… like a force field or something.” Tony thought out loud. Doctor gave him a curious and almost suspicious glance but nevertheless picked up a stone.
Martha gave a shaky breath “My brother had a party tonight… His 21st birthday. My mother ‘s gonna be really rude…” she looked ready to cry. The situation finally sinking in for her.
Tony put a hand on her shoulder which she gratefully squeezed.
“You okay?” Doctor asked.
“Yeah yeah… I mean we could die any minute-“
“But it’s still beautiful, yeah?” Tony finished her sentence. She gave him a smile.
“Here we are standing in the earth's light.” Doctor glanced at Martha, his expression showing his interest.
“What do you think happened?” asked Martha.
“What do you think happened?” The Doctor chipped back.
Martha took a deep breath “Extraterrestrial… Has to be. Would have been mad a couple of years ago but…”
“The spaceship hitting Big Bag and cyber and many many more…” Tony supplied.
“Yeah.” Martha breathed. “My cousin worked at Canary Wharf… She never came home.”
The Doctor's face shifted. And Tony recognized it. It was the look when he missed mother. But it was never this sorrowful. “I am sorry.” The doctor whispered “I was there… in the past.” His voice nearly fading away in sadness. His sorrow was so potent that Tony could feel even with his telepathic barriers on. Canary Wharf, the Doctor said… Tony felt his breath hitch. He had asked about Canary Wharf before but- He never got an answer. When you are older they always told him. But now…. His dad was alone, Canary Wharf had happened so the question came. What happened to his mother at the Canary Wharf? Was it the reason he spent his first two years of life without dad?
Martha took a deep breath to compose herself “I assure you Mr. Smith we will find a way out of this. If we can travel to the moon, we can travel back too.”
“Sure hope so Martha, cause the air won’t last forever.” Tony murmured. Plasma coils, they needed to search for their control mechanism.
Realization dawned on Martha “We’ll suffocate.”
But his father’s attention moved as he passed over him looking up and down at him then switching to the earth illuminating them.
“It’s not Smith… my name. It’s the Doctor.”
“Me too if I pass my exams.” Martha replied. “So Doctor Smith?”
Tony snickered. Not ‘Doctor Who’ then. Doctor glanced at him again before answering.
“No, no just The Doctor.”
“So what people just call you The Doctor?”
“Yup.”
“Well enough of that.” Tony interrupted them. “We still need to figure this one out.”
Doctor grinned “Yes you are quite right young lad.” And he threw the stone he picked up earlier. The stone hit the force field with a ping.
“So it was a force field.” Doctor muttered.
“Plasma thingies!”
“Plasma coils!”
Both Tony and Doctor yelled at the same time, their eyes glimmering in excitement. Doctor turned to him like he wanted to ask him something but they were interrupted by the noise of a dozen spaceships. And Tony knew those spaceships… Judoon. Which was never a good thing honestly. He really hated those insensible rude creatures. Even more after the fiasco in Barcelona, the planet one.
The spaceships landed and battalions of judoon started coming out.
“Aliens… Actual proper aliens…” Martha gazed at them amazed.
Tony snorted, the actual alien was him and dad. And they were certainly better than those block headed Judoons.
“Come on, let's see what the Judoon are up to!” Dad beckoned them inside where they hid between some plants.
Tony watched carefully as the judoon arranged their gear and began scanning. They were looking for non-humans. He was half did that count? Did he do something in this time that would anger anyone? No, he didn’t. In this time period he was a med student, in the majority of it. He might have gotten involved with some alien fish but he was helping them! He wasn’t causing trouble. Dad on the other hand…
“Oh that’s not good. They are looking for non-humans.” Dad groaned “Have I done something? Nooo, I didn’t! I just had to enter this hospital didn’t I? Stupid plasma coils.”
“You talk like you are an alien.” Martha quipped.
Dad only winked at her with a smirk.
Tony snickered, young dad wasn’t so different maybe- oh wait! “A little shop!” He exclaimed “I love little shops.” He grinned looking at the shop filled with colorful books. Were there any comic books? He had been working in the hospital for a month now. How could he not notice a little shop? Blasphemy!
“A little shop? Where?” Dad turned his head as Tony pointed at the little shop.
“What is wrong with you two? Rhino aliens and you two are interested in shops!”
Both them snapped back to Martha
“But I love little shops.”
“But I love little shops.”
Both said at the same time. They turned back to each other. And the Doctor looked at him suspiciously.
“Oh my god it’s like I am stuck with two toddlers. How are you so alike? Are you two sure you are not related?” Martha grumbled.
The Doctor's eyes widened with realization and Tony’s with dread. Dang it aunt Martha.
“Say… What was your full name again.” Doctor asked, his voice taking a slightly serious edge.
“Uhm-“
“Tony Tyler? Yeah?” Martha answered the Doctor instead of him. Tony twitched. Let him be content with that he silently prayed.
“No, shut up, didn't ask you, asked him.” Doctor didn’t even glance at Martha, opting to firmly gaze at him instead.
“I-I am Wolfie Anthony Tyler.”
Something swirled in his father's eyes before he spoke again.
“What species?”
“Human- well half… Can’t tell you the other, endangered species.” Tony replied, knowing full well that he should stop talking and that dad wasn’t gonna let this go.
“Are they here for you?” Martha gasped. “Wait, my coworker is an alien?!”
“Half Martha-“ he weakly countered.
The Doctor’s gaze turned to ice. “And why should I trust you… I can tell ,you know, that it is still not your full name.”
Tony took a deep breath. Of course dad would know that. And he was terrible at secrets, terrible quality when his job was a full-time time traveler. But this situation right now had to be averted. What to do, what to do?
He leaned into the Doctor and whispered “Bad wolf guided me to you.” which wasn't wrong, technically.
Doctor’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief. “How-how do you?..”
Tony took a deep breath “I know Doctor that you have many questions but let’s focus on what we have on our hands now.”
The Doctor frowned but nodded. It was delayed, not averted. Tony duly noted. It had to be enough for now.
“Okay!” Martha silently yelled at the two. “I don’t get what’s going on with you two and Tony you owe me a damn good explanation but-“ she pointed the Judoon scanning the people scattered around the lobby. “We have our hands busy with them yeah? What is the Judoon exactly?” She put her arms to her waist as she demanded an explanation.
“Sort of like a space police.” The Doctor said.
“Hired police.” Tony corrected.
“Kinda like intergalactic thugs .” The doctor snorted.
“Hired Intergalactic thugs, rude fellows.” Tony groaned. He never liked the Judoons since the cake princess incident in Barcelona. He loved that cake and yet the judo- Nope, not the time to go down the memory lane.
“Why did they got us to the moon?” Martha asked again.
“Moon is neutral territory, Earth isn’t in their jurisdiction according to Intergalactic law.” Doctor looked over the Judoon.
“So the rain and the lightning was them… They used H2O scope to get us here.” Tony mused.
Doctor nodded as Martha laughed “Intergalactic law… Where did you even get that?”
Tony rolled his eyes but Doctor started to move to take a better look.
“If they are police are we under arrest?” Martha mused. “People trespassing the moon or something?”
Tony grinned “Oh, wish it were that simple.”
“But Good thinking Jones.” Doctor gave her an approving look.
“Ohhhh yeah. They are definitely cataloging- That’s bad. For both of us that’s bad.” Doctor murmured.
“Oh come on don’t tell me you are an alien too.” Martha laughed but stopped when she saw the Doctor’s face. Tony sighed it was kinda obvious from the start. Dad may have married mum who was a human… well born human at least but he sucked at pretending to be one.
“Stop it.” Martha said her tone unsure and a little tense.
“Well then let’s go.” The Doctor said ignoring the look of disbelief Martha gave as they retreated back to the corridors.
Down below the Leader of the Judoon platoon gave orders to spilt up and search the floors as terrified humans shook on the floor.
And in upstair a distinct scream of pain was heard.
They entered the reception where the Doctor immediately began to thinker with the computer. Tony started searching the drawers to find out if there was anything useful. He wasn't hopeful but it was better than taking his sonic screwdriver in front of dad none the least.
Martha pushed the doors open as she entered "They entered the 3rd floor" she stopped and leaned into the computer Doctor was holding. "What's that in your hand?" her eyes gleamed curiously.
"A sonic screwdriver." he said, not even averting his eyes from the computer.
Martha rolled her eye "Look if you're not going to answer me properly-"
Doctor turned to her "No, really is.'' He showed her the screwdriver. "It's a screwdriver."
Tony slammed the drawer shut, really nothing in there that would be of any use. "And it's sonic! Come on Martha!”Tony sighed, he was getting antsy.
Martha snorted "What else you got? Laser spanner?"
"I did. Got it stolen though... That cheeky woman. You got one Tony?"
"Back on my ship" Tony sighed. He knew he should have taken more stuff on him. Mom was right as always, he should've leaned into his instincts more.
"Shame." The Doctor suddenly hit the computer. "Oh what's wrong with this computer!?" He yelled frustrated.
Tony leaned in. "The Judoon?" He suggested. Doctor nodded his face scowling.
"Judoon platoon upon the Moon." he rubbed his face, seeming trying to come up with something.
Tony almost banged his head on the wall from frustration. He hated Judoon even more now. He should blow out a Judoon fortress when he got TARDIS working again.
"Cause I was just traveling to the past. I swear I was just wondering, looking around" His dad started spiraling which meant he was nervous which wasn't anything good unless mom was there. Dad continued "I wasn't looking for trouble honestly. But I saw this hospital... For two days with plasma coils and lightning. Two days it got worse..."
Finally Tony cut him off. "Oh sod off! If anyone has to complain it's me!" Doctor turned to him, his eyes still filled with frustration, but Tony continued. "I just got here to get chips! Chips you know! But no... My ships decides to stop working. Probably got mad that I didn't take that ginger girl... Cute ginger girl... Whatever. So I am stuck here for a month. I decide to be helpful and look where that got me." He pinched his nose and stopped. He took a deep breath. "Sorry" he mumbled.
Martha came closer to him with a sympathetic look. "Sorry mate..." She said, giving him a squeeze on his shoulder. Doctor too looked at him; softer, more understanding.
"It's all right. I'll take a look at your ship too when we get out of here yeah?" He offered. Tony gave him a tiny smile. 'when' not 'if' still hope then. But dad taking a look on his TARDIS not so great, even though he appreciated it.
"Right! Let's go back to the Judoon." Martha said.
"So the plasma coils are from the Judoon" Doctor turned to the computer glaring at the device.
"But they were scanning... What are they looking for?" Martha asked.
"Something not human no doubt." Tony leaned into the poor computer suffering dad's wrath.
"Like you two..."
"But not me!" Doctor countered. "And he is a hybrid sooo.."
"Don't they have a photo?"
"They might be shape changing."
Paged flashed on the computer screen as Tony and Doctor read them as quickly as they could. " Can't we just let the Judoon look for it and leave them be?"
Tony snorted "Wish it was that easy but if we don't do something they might think we are hiding a fugutive. And let's just say Judoon's prefered method of punishment is execution."
Martha shivered. "All of us?"
Doctor's fingers moved lightning speen on the key "Oh yes. If I can find it before them..."
"OH" He exclaimed. "The Judoon! The thick Judoon!" The computer screen flashed red and Tony cursed. Fuck the Judoon he was gonna blow up that Forthress for sure.
"What are we even looking for?" Martha asked exparested.
"Any patient that was admitted with unusual symptoms?" Doctor picked up the computer. "Check the back up." Tony said. Doctor nodded.
"I'll check if Mr. Stoker knows anything." Martha said as she went over to Mr. Stokers office. Doctor turned the computer around, looking for the back up compartment.
"There." Tony gestured to the right part. "2007, old Earth model." Doctor stopped turning it around and started poking around with his screwdriver. "Say, are you a future me? Cause I can hear two hearts." His voice was tentative, almost scared.
Tony shook his head "No, I-"
"I found it!!!" Martha came in running with two leather clad man from the morning following her behind. She grabbed both of their hands and pulled them away. "Run, run, run!" She yelled frantically.
They ran through the corridors filled with shivering people then went down the stairs only to bump into the Judoon. They ran into another corridor and another and another one while the leather clad alien was still chasing them behind.
Finally the Doctor saw the X-ray room. He pulled them inside then pushed him and Martha into the control room. "Push the button!" He yelled as he took out his sonic screwdriver and started fumbling around with the machines inside. Martha looked at him in shock "W-What button?"
But Tony's eyes sparkled, he understood what his father was trying to do. "I got it!" He yelled as he started preparing the machines. Doctor shot him a grin as the leather clad man entered. As soon as he did Tony pushed the big yellow button. Letting both the Doctor and The leather man get hit by the radiation.
The flashes of radiation deceased as the leather man fell flat on the floor. Martha looked at the alien laying still on the floor in shock. "What did you do?"
Doctor took a deep breath "Increased the radiation by %5000. Killed him dead."
He opened the control room and Martha rushed out to the Doctor "But it killed him dead! Isn't that gonna kill you?"
"Nahhhh." Doctor grinned at them " It's only radiation. We used to play with roentgen bricks in the nursery."
Tony smiled nostalgically, remembering how dad showed him how to play in spite of mom's horror. And dad had shown that mom was also mostly immune to radiation much to her shock. It was a fun day.
"Absorbed it all, yeah?" Tony asked. Doctor nodded, beckoning them closer. "I just need to get it out of me yeah?" He grunted "If I concentrate-" he shook a little with short little breaths "I'll expel it through a point in my body." He continued jumping "From my left shoe"
"Ah ah ah ah. Itches! Itches." He hopped on his right legs towards the wall. And Tony did his best not the burst out laughing. That's exactly how dad reacted when he first showed Tony how it was done.
"Out, out, out!" He grunted more and more, finally grabbing his left shoe and dumping it into the bin. "Done" he finally breathed out.
Martha looked at him flabbergasted. "You are... completely mad." she breathed out.
Doctor looked at them completely serious. "You're right I look daft with one shoe" He took his other shoe off and clanked his teeth "Barefoot on the moon!
And Tony burst out laughing as Martha turned her gaze in disbelief. While he tried to stifle his laughs Martha kneeled next to the dead alien. "So... What is that" she gestured to the alien. "Planet Zovirax?"
"Just a slab" Doctor responded and then glared at Tony "Oi! Enough laughing." he crouched next to the alien as Tony took a deep breath "Yeah sorry. The slabs yeah? Basic slave male bees."
Doctor touched the leather "All covered in leather... Somebody has a hell of a fetish." he stood up.
Martha looked up to him "He was with her. The old lady Mrs. Finnigan"
"Oh god" Tony groaned. It was right in front of his nose. How could he not notice that?
"My sonic screwdriver..." Doctor said in disbelief as he took out his now burned to bits screwdriver from the radiation machine. Oh no, dad was too dramatic when it came to his screwdriver.
"She was one of the patients but-"
"My sonic screwdriver it's all burnt."
"She had some kind of a straw she was drinking from... Like a vampire."
"I love my sonic screwdriver."
"Doctor!" Martha yelled, pulling the Doctor out of his dramatic trance.
Doctor immediately turned back to Martha tossing the screwdriver back which Tony tactfully caught. No need leaving Time Lord tech on human territory. "Sorry" Doctor grinned at Martha "You called me Doctor."
"Anyway." Martha continued fed up "Mrs. Finnigan is the alien and she was drinking Mr. Stokers blood." Tony's mind raced. Bees, leather, male slaves, blood...
"Odd time to feed." Tony commented his mind still racing. He turned to his father who was also racing his mind "Unless... no" the Doctor muttered.
"Yes, that’s it. Wait a minute..." Doctor's eyes gleamed.
"Shape changing..." Tony muttered
"Not external" Tony grinned, finally piecing the puzzle together.
"Internal form changing!" Father and son yelled simultaneously.
They looked at each other in victory. "She wasn't drinking the blood" Doctor raised his hand. "She was assimilating." Tony high fived him, both of them getting caught in the moment.
"The Judoon won't register her as long as we don't do something. Come on!" Doctor yelled Tony gave a grin as he and Martha followed the doctor.
They ran through the corridors until Tony saw two slabs passing right in ahead of them. He pulled Martha and the Doctor down making all three of them crouch. "The slabs, they always travel in pairs." Doctor watched as the Slabs passed, unaware of their presence.
"What about you?" Martha whispered.
"What about me, what?" Doctor kept his gaze on the slabs.
"You got back up? You must have a partner."
Something overwhelmingly painful flashed in the Doctor's eyes. Tony's heart clenched, his mind going to the questions that had been eating him since seeing his dad. 'What happened to mom' and ' Why mom and dad never talked about it' He forcefully pushed down the questions. "Come on Martha. " he rolled his eyes.
Doctor snapped back to himself "You humans, we are stuck on the moon with the Judoon and blood sucking creature and that's what you ask. Personal questions." He glared at Martha then turned to Tony "Come on" He gestured to them to move.
Martha rolled her eyes as she stood up. "You humans, he says." She tched. "Still not so convinced neither are not not human". Just as they stood up The doctor was flashed with the Judoon's gadget
"NOT HUMAN" a rough metallic voice called.
"Oh my god. I believe now" Martha yelled as they started running again. The Judoon shot at them and they doged at the nick of time as they turned into another corridor. Seriously Tony was getting sick of the corridor running business.
They finally entered a floor that had already been checked. "They checked this floor." Tony said as he looked over the black crosses drawn on humans.
"Good. Judoon are logical and a little bit thick. They won't check here again" Doctor kept walking.
"If we are lucky" Tony snorted and the Doctor shrugged.
Martha crouched next to a colleague giving oxygen to a patient. "How much do we have left."
Her colleague looked visibly worn out "Not enough... We'll suffocate." a tear feel from her face.
Doctor turned to them. "How are you two feeling?"
Martha grinned "Adrenalin" her eyes sparkled as Tony chuckled and shook his head helplessly.
Doctor smiled "Welcome to my world.”
"Wait, what about the Judoon?"
"They have a big lung capacity. Will last them quite a while." Tony answered.
"Yep. Won't slow them down. Where's Mr Stoker's office?" Doctor looked at Martha.
"This way." She stood up and led them to their teacher's office. They entered the office and Tony rushed to the cold dried up corpse that was once Mr. Stoker. His heart clenched, he was a bit of a snob but...
"Oh god." Martha whispered, horrified.
"Plasmavore yeah?" Tony looked at the Doctor.
The Doctor nodded solemnly "Hiding and running in Earth."
"Endangering everyone." Tony clenched his fists.
Doctor frowned "But what is she doing now? She is still not safe. Judoon can execute us all." He stood up giving them a quick look "Come on!"
"Wait a minute." Martha said slowly walking over to Mr. Stoker and closing his eyes. Doctor looked at her softly and Tony felt proud, that was his aunt.
"Think, think , think." Doctor muttered. "If I was plasmavore trapped what would I do?" And that question was answered as soon as Tony saw the MRI sign. He and the Doctor shared a look. A silent understanding of a plan forming in their heads as Tony felt the barest of a touch upon his telepathic field. Mom was right, he and dad were too alike.
"Heh… She is as clever as us." Tony commented shutting his telepathic fields as tightly as he could.
Doctor shook his head "Almost"
"FIND THE NON-HUMAN EXECUTE" Heavy steps of the Judoon accompanied by panicked screams started to approach them.
Doctor turned to Tony "Can you hold them off?"
Tony nodded "I should be able to. But it's too dangerous I can't just let you go alone"
"We both know it's the fastest and safest... ,well for the rest of the people, way of doing it." Tony glared at him for a moment then nodded.
"What are you talking about if you have a way of dealing with it do it." Martha interrupted them.
"Doctor nodded "Right then! Take care yeah!" As soon as he spoke he rushed off to the MRI section.
Martha looked like she wanted to run after him but Tony held her arm. "Look Judoon will be here any second don't resist, let them scan you. Their scanner will be confused by me, use that time to explain Mrs. Finnigan yeah?"
Martha pushed her lips together but before she could say anything The Judoon walked next to them grabbing their arms roughly. Martha yelp as her scan was completed.
"HUMAN '' the Judoon blared as he drew a cross on Martha.
Now it was Tony's turn.
"HUMAN- NON-HUMAN CAN'T IDENTIFY!"
The Judoon yanked him closer. "What are you?" He glared at Tony who huffed. "You thick Judoon!" he yelled at them. "You can't even identify hybrid! How can you search for the fugitive like that?" He mocked them.
The Judoon held his arm as if he was trying to snap it which might have been the case if Martha didn't interrupt them.
"Stop it! The real culprit, we know where they are!"
"Unidentified suspect must be dealt with first!" the Judoon spoke. "Use the scanner again set it for 34/9-8 setting." Tony ordered. Judoon were thick, yes but also logical.
The Judoon stopped for a moment and set the scanner. He scanned Tony again.
"HYBRID IDENTIFIED. HUMAN AND AN UNKNOWN ENTITY!"
"See! He is not the fugitive. I'll show you the way." Martha yelled as she pulled at the Judoon holding her. The Judoon let her go the impact sending her tumbling on the floor.
"The Hybrid will show us the way" Judoon said as he handed Martha a card."Compensation"
Tony ripped himself of the Judoon with more success than Martha. Time lord biology. "This way." He said marching towards the MRI room. Martha stood up as fast as she could and rushed behind them.
Tony pushed open the door just as his dad fell on the floor without life and suddenly all Tony could think about was "DAD!" he yelled trying to rush to him only to be Stopped by the Judoon.
"Oh dear!" Mrs. Finnigan exclaimed in fake worry. "This poor man just fell dead from fright." She flashed her crossed hand at them.
"NO!" Tony yelled as a second Judoon joined in holding him back.
"She is a murder. She is the fugitive, can't you see!" Martha yelled as tears welled upon her eyes.
"The Judoon has no authority over human crimes!"
"She is not human!" Martha yelled fiercely.
Tony's eyes flashed in fury "You drank my father's blood!" he spat out.
Martha's eyes flashed "Scan her! Go on scan!"
Mrs. Finnigan smiled confidently.” Go ahead and scan. I am already cataloged."
Tony stopped struggling momentarily and used the Judoon's confusion to grab the scanner. He pointed it towards the damned plasmavore.
"NOT HUMAN!" The Judoon declared.
"What?" Mrs. Finnigan uttered in schok
"Confirm analysis. Apperhand the fugitive." The Judoon surrounded the plasmavore flashing the scanner again.
"I am human! As human as I can be."
Tears welled in Tony's eyes he shouldn't have let Dad go alone. He should have gone with him. "He gave his breath to save us." leaving behind a child he never knew existed he left that part silent. A sob escaped Martha.
"Plasmavore confirmed. You are charged by the murder of the child princess of The Padrivole Regency 9."
"Well she deserved it." She snarled "Those pink cheeks were begging to be dried!"
"Do you confess?"
"Confess?! I am proud of it! Slab stop them!" She yelled as she held onto some cables. The Judoon quickly dealt with the slab.
"Verdict: Guity! Sentence: Execution!"
But it was too late. The machine started beeping and Tony realized Magnetic overload. The damned thing was dragging all of them down with her.
"BURN IN HELL WITH ME " she shriek as Judoon's blasters burned her away, leaving a sick satisfaction inside Tony.
"Case closed." Judoon said sheathing their weapons.
Martha and he crouched next to the Doctor. "But what did she mean by with me?" Martha asked her voice filled with dread.
"Acceleration of mono magnetic pulse." Tony answered. "The damned thing will blow up the moon as well as half of the Earth."
The Judoon's scanner beeped "Confirmed."
"Well, do something!" Martha glared at the Judoon. But Tony stopped paying attention to them. He could feel it. The slight pull of a telepathic field he had been trying to ignore this whole day.
"Our Jurisdiction has ended and the Judoon will evacuate."
Martha looked like she wanted to protest but Tony stopped her. "He is alive..." Tony whispered.
"What! Then what are we waiting for?" Martha immediately started chest compressions and Tony snapped back to himself.
"Two hearts! Yes!" He grinned as he started chest compressions on the heart Martha missed. She looked at him at surprise but did not break her focus.
They methodically keep up the compressions till Martha ran out of air her consciousness fading away. Tony didn't stop He switched back between hearts and tried his best to telepathically force him to wake up. His breaths to shortened and just as he was going to fade away as well The Doctor drew in a shaky breath.
He pointed at the magnetic pulse shining on the machine" Fix... it. Doctor..." he breathed out.
The Doctor nodded at him with bleary eyes before jumping on his feet.
Tony could distinctly hear some crackles and then rain... It flashed white and Tony felt relief first time today. They were back at planet Earth.
By the time he and Martha were coherent enough the Doctor had already disappeared. They sat on the ambulance entrance.
"So..." Martha sighed."You'll leave?"
Tony nodded. "I have to. Too much attention on the hospital now." He had liked the hospital even if it was boring most of the time. Maybe he should visit a Hospital when the TARDIS was back on her feet. Or if she was back, he thought grimly.
"Just one thing... You called the Doctor dad when you panicked..." She looked hesitant to follow up.
"He looks too young to have me? He looks like he doesn't know me? He is an alien so am I?"
Martha laughed "Well, yeah."
Tony laughed too "Yeah well, can't tell you everything. Timey wimey shenanigans and all that. But yeaaaah he is my dad and he is waaaay older than he looks don't let his appearance fool you."
She nodded. "I assume I can't keep my memories of you." Her voice turned sad. His aunt Martha of course she would realize.
"Yep. But don't worry. I have an amazing aunt named Martha so..." He winked at her.
She giggled and let Tony place his fingertips on her temples. "Just a warning for your subconsciousness. Dad right now is sad and oblivious, don't let him lead you on." and with that his month with aunt Martha was tucked away and hidden.
He locked eyes with his father standing far away. No escaping from questions then Tony mused.
He walked up to his father's side discarding his white coat.
His father's face had regained his color much to Tony's relief and he didn't look angry which was always a good sign.
"I thought you were a future version of me." The Doctor started. "You have two hearts but you can't be me. I realized it when you tried to reach out to me telepathically." He continued but his voice was scared like he didn't want to be true about Tony's real identity.
"And... You realized who I was didn't you?"
Doctor took a shaky breath. "But I don't understand how it's possible. She is gone.'' His voice carried an overwhelming feel of despair. He stopped, his eyes widening in horror and realization. "Oh Rassilion..." his voice thick with sorrow. And Tony immediately understood that dad had realized how and when he was conceived. "She lied." his words came out as a sob. "It wasn't Jackie it was her and I left her there."
Tony watched as his father crumbled, his heart shattering. Tony took a deep breath steadying himself. He too was starting to understand why mom wasn't with dad. He moved towards his father, grabbing him on his shoulders. "Dad! I am here aren't I?" He almost yelled.
Doctor raised his head looking far too vulnerable than Tony had ever seen him before and it broke his hearts too. But his mind whirled like a storm. TARDIS had brought him here to meet this version of dad for a reason.
"Yes..." The Doctor murmured. "You are here... You are here and you know me and you know Bad Wolf so she is also here!" His eyes flashed almost manicaly.
Tony tightened his grip. "Yes but not yet dad! And I think I know what must be done." A new found determination surrounded father and son.
"Tell me."
"I need to look at your timelines." Tony said knowing how dangerous his request was. But he needed to be sure because the only memory he had of the time belonged to his two year old self. His first memory of his father, face to face.
Doctor pushed his lips together looking like he was about to protest but he stopped and a calmer more determined look appeared on his face. "I know you'll have to erase my memories of you but I need to know."
Tony nodded. "Mom and the Torchwood of the otherside develop their dimension canons. I know it should have been impossible but the circumstances were a bit different and mom had become something more than just a human..." Tony shrugged.
A rueful smile appeared on the Doctor's face. "She was always more than just a human. My Rose." Tony too smiled.
"Then go on, take a look at my timelines."
And take a look Tony did. He searched the storm that was his father's time lines and found the one he was looking for. Images flashed in his head. Daleks, guns flashing, His mom, dad aunt donna and uncle Jack... The Stolen Earth and The Journey's End....
He opened his eyes once again, meeting his father's eyes. "Did you find it?"
Tony nodded, tearing up. He understood it, why TARDIS brought him here, why mom and dad never spoke of it.
A proud smile formed on the Doctor's face "Thank you... I won't remember it but the hope... The hope will stay."
Tears finally fell from his eyes as he threw himself at his father, giving him a tight hug. The Doctor froze for a moment. Then he eased into the hug, wrapping his arms around Tony. For a moment they allowed themself to feel each other.
“I should go.” Tony broke the hug as he smiled sorrowfully.
“Yeah… Good lu- No you are mine and Rose’s… I am sure you’ll do what you need to do.” The Doctor gave him a confident charming grin. Now this face of the Doctor Tony knew quite well. He too grinned as he placed his fingers on his father’s temples.
“Say hi to aunt Martha for me yeah?”
“Will do.”
And with that The Doctor’s memories were successfully erased. Tony retreated back and watched silently as his father dazedly entered his TARDIS. Tony too returned to his own TARDIS.
His TARDIS this time didn’t greet him with silence like she had done this past month. She almost giggled as he entered and her control panel flashed approvingly. Tony grinned as he shook his head helplessly. TARDIS was mischievous as always, reliable as always. Taking him where he was needed. He sat the coordinates up. He had his childhood to save and parents to reunite.
He pushed the button and the TARDIS shook as she came back to life, bringing him exactly where he was needed.
