Summary
Jinx never bothered with consequences. She saw the goal—obstacles simply didn’t register. This time was no different: act first, think later. Could anyone blame her? Not when the chance to work with Ekko—her idol, her obsession—dangled right before her.
Now came the hard part: learning to smile for cameras instead of yanking journalists’ hair out during live broadcasts. Easy enough.
At least, in theory.

While she was at it, why not send her dads a message? Like, hey, guess who got a new phone? She got down to the V, about to click on Vander's contact to tell him of her newest adventure, when an emoji caught her attention.
It was the only contact with an emoji in place of a name. More specifically, a thumbs down emoji.
Jinx had no clue who it was. Neither did she remember ever creating the contact. She opened up the log, but there wasn't even a message history between them. She was insanely curious over who they could be.
She opened up their contact, typing out a ‘Hey so I saved your number as 👎. Any idea what might have caused this??’ before clicking send.
The reply came a few minutes later.
👎: Guess who?
After finding a mysterious contact on her phone, Jinx finds herself roped into a never-ending guessing game, the stranger on the other end of the line both closer and farther than she could've ever expected.

Jinx knew how to get under his skin, which levers to pull, which buttons to press to make him lose his cool. And at the same time, she was smart, charismatic, beautiful, and strong. She made Ekko stand on his toes, forced him to push past his own limits just so he wouldn't yield, so he could come out on top.
Falling in love with her was all too easy.
Ignoring that feeling was practically impossible.
"Well, Boy Savior, ready to play a little with your best enemy?"
"Only if you're not afraid to get a little... dirty, Boom-girl."

His fingers twitch in defiance. Just a few inches away, he gets her. Gets every version of her he’s ever known, and every way he’s ever seen her. Every captivating smile, every teasing glance, every rebellious middle finger she’s thrown his way.
He shouldn’t, he really shouldn’t.
But god help, he reaches for it anyway– almost against his will.
He opens his sketchbook– the one he’s kept of her for many years– going through the countless new drawings he’s added since she’s arrived. He doesn’t have to wait until he runs into her in the lanes for him to get a glimpse of her. And so, with every thing she does that he can’t get out of his head, he draws it, capturing the moment in the only way he knows how to.
Even ink isn’t permanent enough in comparison to the big ‘Jinx’ engraved in him.
