Work Text:
Altruism had been an admirable trait Jasper loves about his older sister Silica.
Silica always endeavored her very best when he was alive.
It wasn’t just the fact she would give him affectionate piggybacks.
She would always tell him that she had vowed to the poor to give them housing, regardless of their species.
Fairies or humans, or anthros, aliens or merfolks, they all deserved a home in Jewel Land.
How altruistic.
Alas, their eldest sister Topaz took advantage of Silica’s kindness. She knew the latter would never dare to fight back. For Silica was as mushy as marshmallows.
Every instance Jasper noticed Silica’s vicariously seen wounds on her limbs and wings, she always denied anything wrong.
It was due to how selfless and loving she was. Both to him and to the subjects of Jewel Land. Not wanting them to worry about her well-being.
But Jasper will still never forget how he one day entered her bedroom after he slammed the door open. And he saw the noose…
Topaz had pushed Silica to her end.
Those claw marks were identical to Topaz’s.
If only Jasper could tell Silica that she didn’t need to be so altruistic all the time to someone who always exploited her gentleness…
If only he caught on with the glaring red flags posed on her injured body better…
If only he was there to stop her…
If only…
He was altruistic enough to love her…
