Why I think Ariana Griande and Hotguy are dating, a much needed 🧵 (1/25)

Before HG even started working for Ari, it was clear he was a fan. Remember those blurry photos of a figure in orange and teal seen at an Ariana concert from a year ago? HG basically confirmed it was him during an interview from two months ago when he said, and I quote, “I’ve been listening to Ari’s music for ages! I’m just glad I don’t have to sneak around to see her perform anymore, haha.”

It’s soooo obvious he’s in love with Ariana.

Or, Ariana and Hotguy’s relationship, as assumed by their fans online.

Just a few words and she’s so happy.

A figure appears right in the corner of Grian’s vision, making her yelp. Now, this normally wouldn’t be a big deal, but today’s Grian’s sitting under her desk. For no reason at all. She has no reason to be sitting there with a notebook. Nope. Although she finds herself regretting it, because as shock runs through her body, Grian jerks back, consequently hitting her head right on the wood above her. She whines in turn, reaching up to rub at the aching spot on her head. 

“What are you doing?” said figure asks, seemingly bored, and Grian looks up to find Joel crouching in front of her. He lifts an unimpressed brow, though his eyes linger on Grian’s head with a faint flair of concern. “Why’re you hiding under the desk?”

“I’m not hiding,” Grian huffs as she drops her arms. She gestures to her notebook, “I’m working.” 

Joel’s unimpressed stare doesn’t change. “Under the desk?” 

“It helps me think.” 

Sighing, Joel merely frowns at her. “Y’know Hotguy is looking for you,” he states bluntly. 

Grian hates the fact that his words send her heartbeat kicking up in speed as a tender warmth floods her cheeks. Under the light, they’d surely dust with pink. “I know,” she answers, huffing once more. A part of her hopes he isn’t worrying right now. “I’ll come out and find him eventually. When I’m done.” What she doesn’t say is how hard it is being around him, now that she’s fully cognizant of her feelings for him. Grian can’t be in the same room as him without feeling this urge to hold his hand or even kiss him. She’s going crazy. 

Hence the definitely-not-hiding under the desk. So she can be productive. 

“When you’re done…” her producer drawls, expression never once changing. 

“Mmmhm.” Grian nods. “Sitting here is great for getting the brain cell to work. You should try it sometime Joel.” 

Sighing, Joel gestures for her to scoot over to make room before sitting down next to her. Grian lifts a brow at him, watching as he pulls out his phone. She says nothing as she watches him open up his text messages and a moment later her own phone goes off.

“Huh? Sorry, I was texting Ariana,” he sheepishly apologizes, quickly sending her the right image this time before pocketing his phone. “Where were we?” 

In Cub’s hands is a new bow—although it looks very similar to his current one. “I’ve added a few things to upgrade the Hotguy bow,” he explains, as if used to Scar doing this sort of thing by now. “Feel like playing around for testing?” 

Scar grins, full of excitement and mischief. “Cub you just said some of my favorite words.”

Some people praise her for how beautiful she is, while others talk about her and Hotguy being together. Every comment on their relationship (the lack thereof), leaves Scar’s heart thumping loudly in his chest, blush reaching even to the tips of his ears. He reads over another tweet.

He groans, shutting his phone off as letting it drop on his bed. Shortly following the action is his head being smushed into the blanket under him, face so incredibly warm. He can’t help but picture the two of them holding hands, or exchanging soft kisses, or Ariana in his clothes more often. But the image that truly ruins Scar is one of Ari waking up next to him every morning. Her long hair would probably be a mess, eyes sleepy and half awake. Maybe she’d nuzzle into him, complaining about having to get up. As he’s learned, Ariana isn’t much of a morning person. 

But to wake up with her in his arms every day… oh how Scar wishes to be that lucky. He’d love for nothing more than to be able to hold her and kiss her, shower her with endless love. 

Rolling onto his back, Scar moves to stare up at the ceiling, pouting. He glances at his phone. I’m hopeless…

Maybe he should stop looking at these fan theories. It's not doing much for his endless pining.

Notes:

this fic was. absolute torture to format. oh my god. it took me TWO (2) whole days. for once, writing was the easiest part 😭 but I’m soooo happy with how this came out and how it all came together hehe :3c but pls 😭 pls comment and kudos if you enjoyed (if you see me using sabrina pics for ari… look away, im spreading my ‘theme ari on sabrina’ propaganda /silly. shout out to indie galaxy-lilies for editing the first sab pic 🫶)
