Chapter Text

The government arrived. They ushered Sun and Moon into two different places, still nearby each other but they weren't able to see one another. Both brothers had a government officer in the same room as them.

The room was all white, a tiny bit small for both animatronics but they could manage. Each government official had a computer in front of them, next to a pile of papers, on a black table and were sitting on a black chair, like the two brothers.

In Sun's isolated room, the government official finished up what they were doing on the  computer and told Sun why they were there, "So, I have a few questions for you."

Sun was twiddling his thumbs when he looked down at he officer and nodded vigorously, "Yeah, yeah, I can answer them!"

The officer sighed and then muttered, "This is the weirdest day of my job..."

Sun laughed nervously, "Sorry, I know it's weird, I mean, I'm really big."

The officer shook their head and looked up at Sun, "Okay, let's get started. First question, what is your name?"

"My name is Sunrise, but people call me Sundrop or just Sun." Sun answered.

Down in Moon's assigned place, Moon was very laid back and casual about what was happening. He didn't seem to be as bothered as Sun was.

"Wow, you guys really didn't splurge for a nice place, did ya?" He commented gruffly on the atmosphere of the room.

The officer turned back and fixed a camera that was in the corner of the room pointed at themselves and Moon.

Moon noticed, "Ohh, you got a fancy little camera there? Hello!~"

"The camera is for my own protection and to monitor to make sure everything is correct in code and all that." The officer said in a tired voice, they clearly just wanted to get this over with.

"Yeah yeah yeah... I've done this before." Moon crossed his arms, rolling his eyes.

The officer asked the same question that Sun's officer asked.

Moon shrugged, "Moondrop, Moonrise, I prefer to go by Moon though."

The officer started typing in their computer as they continued, "Alright, next question, how long have you been working for Fazbear Entertainment?"

Sun looked up thoughtfully, the florescent light glinting on his rays, "I've been working there for five years, like my brother, five years just taking care of children all day.

"Mhm. Next question, were you always programmed to act the way you act?" The officer looked back up from the screen.

"I think I was programed to act like this?" Sun tried answering.

"That'll work. Next, how did you gain your intellect?" The officer clarified, "Sentience, anything along those lines."

Sun shrugged, "I don't really know, it just kind of happened one day. It's a bit hard to describe it properly..."

"It was partially programmed into me," Moon replied, "I have a kill code, programmed with that too, I'm a very violent person." He lowered his voice.

"We are aware of that." The officer glanced at the computer and then looked back up, "Right, well, how'd you gain your intelligence? We're aware of the many creations that you've made."

"How'd I gain it?" Moon repeated, "I suppose you would be informed of my inventions because of a certain... green thing. But my sentience and intellect was mostly a pre-outcome of my awakening, the rest was gained through studying, observing, or other less legal means."

"Okay, how do you feel pain? We have several documentations, including in your videos, of you claiming to feel pain." The officer asked.

"Well... I like to think that my pain is the same way you experience pain, but I think it was programmed into me too." Sun answered.

"My receptors are extremely dulled, I can't feel as much as my brother can but I can explain it as being similar to bioelectricity. The signals from the brain and such, so it's likely another thing programmed into me." Moon explained.

"Why and how did you separate from your brother?"

"Oh, how? I don't really know how, that's more of Moons thing. But why we did is that figured that if we were separated then we'd both live happier lives!" Sun smiled, thinking about how thoughtful Moon was about it, but then he frowned when he remembered that it was also how Eclipse was created.

"I wanted to separate because, similar to the last question about pain, my brother's senses are a lot more modified than mine, he'd feel pain whenever I wanted to wake up, or be in control of our body." Moon recalled, "I was trapped in my own body not being able to do anything without having to fight someone to do so."

"So then how'd you separate?" The officer glanced up at Moon questioningly.

"How'd I do it? HA! Even you government officials wouldn't be smart enough to understand how I did it."

"What is your affiliation with Montgomery Gator?"

"Oh, Monty?" Sun thought about the green gator.

"He's on record for selling several unique items." The officer explained.

"I don't talk to Monty a lot. Moon might be able to answer your question though."

"I'll tell my partner about it then."

"I guess you could call him a business partner." Moon shrugged.

"Does he sell any of these items on your behalf?" The officer looked down at their papers.

"No, I give them to him so he can sell them on his own accord and in exchange he does favors for me." Moon clarified.

"How'd you learn magic?"

Sun blinked and wondered if he should be honest or not, "I don't.. know any magic." Sun answered after a moment. He was telling the truth, but also not.

"How I learned magic?" Moon tilted his head.

"Yes, we have CCTV footage of you burning down an insurance firm with your bare hands."

"They were committing extreme fraud and tax evasion!" Moon defended himself, "You should've delt with that a lot sooner, I did you a favor!"

"We were going to." The officer huffed, "But that's not the point right now, how did you learn magic?"

Moon rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair, "All I'm going to say is that you know the individual who taught me magic."

"We want a clear answer, please." The officer said firmly, "Could you say a name for the record?"

"Fredbear." Moon hissed, "There you go. Happy days."

"Do you know who made you?"

"I'll be honest, I don't really know. Isn't it Fazbear Entertainment who made me?" Sun asked.

"We don't know the individual themselves who created you, they aren't written down in any documentations." The officer replied.

"Well, I can remember some of what they looked like... I remember waking up one day on a construction line, I think, and I remember seeing someone with brown hair..." Sun remembered as much as he could, "uh, blue eyes, and they were a bit tanned. And that's all I really know."

"If I knew who made me, he'd be long dead..." Moon growled.

"You would kill him?" The officer glanced up at Moon.

"Absolutely, instead of making two individuals, he made one with two consciences... in a way that causes both of them pain of some sort. Mine mental, my brothers' physical." Moon reasoned, "Whoever created us is a sick human..."

"Okay, last three questions. These are going to be a bit more... Elaborate, I would say." The officer took a deep breath, "Okay, first one, is there another personality in you?"

Sun blinked, slightly taken aback by the question, he hesitated slightly, "I don't... I don't know what you mean by that..."

The officer sighed in a annoyance, "Your body was the original vessel for you and your brother. Wouldn't it be likely that there's another potential personality in you or your brother then?"

Sun quickly shook his head, "No, no, there's no such thing."

"You're not lying, are you?" The officer slowly went to write it down.

"No..." Sun winced and looked down guiltily but the officer didn't notice.

"I know what's in my body and I know that there's no 'other personality' within me." Moon huffed.

"There've been reports of you and your brother getting more violent with children, do you have anything to add about it?" The officer looked up at Sun, tapping their pen onto the table methodically.

"What are you talking about?? Moon's been very kind to children! He was violent but now he's changed! He's a better person!" Sun defended Moon.

Moon sighed, "My cases with getting violent with children are generally in the past at this point. But I'm more interested in the second part of that," Moon sat up straight and leaned forward, "My brother you say?"

"You understand I said you and your brother?" The officer asked Sun.

Sun was surprised by the accusation, how could he have possibly hurt a child? "Me?" Sun was baffled, "I didn't do anything! I've been good to the kids!"

"The footage that we have here says other wise." The officer nodded to the computer on the table, "It shows you breaking a child's arm."

Sun got defensive and hissed, "I WOULD DO NO SUCH THING!"

The officer nodded, "I'll take your word for it." They went and wrote it down, their pen scribbling blue over the paper with delicate hands and amazing handwriting until they set it down and looked back up at Sun, "Okay. Last question."

Sun listened.

"What happened on July 16th?"

Sun's mechanical heart stopped and his body went cold.

Moon blinked at the question and then laughed nervously, "Well, isn't that a wonderful question? Honestly, I don't know the details. But, I'll tell you this..."

Sun was instantly uncomfortable and he started to mess with the ribbons on his wrists and twiddled his thumbs in his hands, "I don't... I don't want to talk about that that." He spoke softly.

"Sunrise, you will answer the question." The officer said firmly, leaning in close to Sun.

"N-No I- Uhm-" Sun stammered when he was cut off by the officer again.

"You are in a place where you required to answer the question or there will be consequences." The officer pressed.

"I-I don't want to answer the question, I just don't want to." Sun hugged himself.

"You will answer the question or you will be shut down. Answer the question." The officer pressed further.

"I don't want to answer the question-" Sun insisted again, then he put his hands to his head as he felt a sudden sharp pain pierce it, it was a telltale sign, one Sun already came to know. He twitched and spasmed for a moment until he went limp for a moment and then seemingly came back to life.

Then he slowly turned to the officer and then leaned in close, putting his hands on the table, "July 16th?" Eclipse drawled, "That was a fun day for me..."

"Sunrise." The officer swallowed hard, the sudden personality change in Sun making him uneasy.

Eclipse frowned and then smiled with sharp teeth, "Sunrise? Sunrise isn't here anymore... I want to play a little..." He said in a low voice.

Moon continued, "In approximately... five seconds, your partner is going to die."

The officer paused, "Pardon me?"

"Your partner." Moon repeated.

A scream tore through the small silence and the officer instantly stood up from their seat and made a mad dash to their coworker. Moon simply watched as they ran. He knew all too well that it was Eclipse. And he knew that they'd also all have to go into hiding since the government would now be tracking them down.

Notes:

ough, the infamously important july 16th

Hopefully this doesn't cause any conflict! I say with hopes... little did I know...

Writing this is like writing the 95 theses that Martin Luther wrote for the Roman Catholic Church....

It's... it's like I'm back in history class answering questions!!!!!!!!
