LET ME SAY THE AMOUNT OF DISTRESS I WAS IN THIS ENTIRE FIC WAS VERY HIGH . but oh my god was it worth it. the way everyone cares for each other and reaches out. makes me want to eat a memory foam mattress. the love, devotion, and protectiveness between them all that only trauma can cause. nothing like it. but also there were just specific parts that make my heart hurt- eddie’s words for steve to live by. killed me. demolished. i will not be recovering. the moms defending steve (though i will say what harlow was insinuating about steve during the interrogation made me sick), the way you wrote the action scenes and how it all bled together and lead all back to each other (left me breathless with how ecstatic i was at parts) and of course, the discussion of california the first time with steve and eddie and then the second time with their lives on the line. chefs kiss. THE EPILOGUE had me crying, how happy they are and how old they got to grow (even though its not old at all) and how involved the families are. WAAAAH may they live and love 50 more years and then some. 10/10

i love summer camp aus and i love steve and dustins relationship in this. and i like how lucas and max’s relationship was handled, when it came to billy and how lucas can forgive him or think of him independently of max’s own emotions and relations to him- while also being understanding and supportive. i loved this so much, and that fucking deerwolf is terrifying what the fuck. 10/10
