Summary
He danced with her in the living room as he sheltered in her house from the rain. However, unbeknownst to Sans, the roof was sheltering him from something far more detrimental- a horrible fate that was fast approaching. Soon enough, he'd realise that he danced for too long, left her house too soon and neglected to confess the truth to Toriel before it was too late.
Soon after she was snatched from his reach, she was replaced with something else.
It wore her face. Her laugh.
It stole her jokes. Her warmth.
And that wasn't all it took. -

“Ha!” the laugh is so wrong, it grates on her. “My time is over, miss. And things that happened today… they have shown me how mistaken I was in my thinking, even in my heyday.”
Everyone is losing hope. Even hardy ol’ Gerson. Alphys deflates at that.
“Besides,” he goes on, “There is still someone left – you yourself Dr Alphys.”
“I’m not –”
“Ye’r the last remnant of the royal axis, young lady,” his eyes glint. Her heart aches for Undyne again. “Them good folks downstairs… They’re gonna look up to you. It’s all up to you now, kid.”
After the human leaves a grieving kingdom behind, Alphys is newly elected Queen. Even as she leads the remainder of monsterkind through these difficult times she has no space to mourn for what she lost.
She doesn’t know that an old friend she had thought dead will return to her.

In an experimental run, Flowey was worried Toriel would convince a fallen human to stay with her in the Ruins. Flowey was struggling to find a way to prevent this.
Luckily, a very “agreeable” skeleton friend of his might be able to convince her, but they’d need to target her kind nature somehow.

Papyrus suddenly disappears. He’s in the Ruins with Toriel (due to unfortunate circumstances), but his other friends don’t know that.

And who could forget the time she caught him gleefully scooping up an entire lasagna that had tumbled onto the floor? "Lasagna De Le Carpet” he called it, as if it were some kind of delicacy.
Then there was his constant need to make her the punchline of every joke, delighting in pushing her buttons just to see her reaction.
Yes, Sans Serif was lazy, messy, and perpetually obnoxious.
There was no way, absolutely no way, she could ever find herself attracted to someone like him.
