If Tim's… friend (would Tim get shot if he were to call Jason his brother?) is feeling particularly gregarious, they might chat about light subjects—the latest trafficking ring Jason's brought down, the newest security measures government agencies have implemented to try and keep Tim out, whatever shenanigans their assorted siblings and sibling-adjacent friends are getting into. He ignores the murmur of Khuzdul that passed between the dwarves as he made his way to the door. His footfalls against the cool floorboards silent as he thought back again on who would be arriving, a smile coming to his lips as he remembered that it would be the princes.
Already beginning to prepare himself for the chaos bound to ensue.
But his mood shifted as his mind flashed with the last moments of said princes, making his expression fall. His hand hovered above the handle of his front door, driving back the darkness that had begun to settle in his chest. He promised himself something, that he wouldn’t let any of the company to die their original deaths.
He would do his best to fulfill that promise, the consequences for the future be damned. And so he composed himself, a polite smile playing at his lips and a greeting on his tongue.
Before he paused, standing frozen in his doorway. Being met with a dwarf he’s never seen before standing inbetween the princes, his muted green eyes meeting his own hazel ones.

Before Jake could respond, the Captain pulled the rope again, harder. The pressure on his neck increased and the feeling of the rope tightening on his throat was enough for him to choke out a gasp. He grabbed onto the bars in front of him, trying to push away, only making the noose tighten further. He choked and grabbed at the noose around his neck and tried to pull it away as he panted harder. Everyone's eyes were glued to the screen, dissecting the hooded man’s every movement, but Mydei couldn't hear them anymore. The sound in the room dulled, muffled like he was underwater.
Mydei could recognize that body body language and posture everywhere, and air seemed to leave his lungs, the truth seemed was too painful to process.
Perhaps it was all the stress, or perhaps the fact he had been worrying over Phainon dissapearance, perhaps it was the realization that he was pregnant of the very same man on the screen.
