Danny Fenton's parents nuked his powers when he was 18. He left town for college and AFROTC chasing NASA dreams, meaning to never come back. 16 years, 12 years in the service and two combat tours later, he's facing his past.
USAF Major Danny Fenton comes home on leave to Amity Park to meet his new nephew and see old friends. And maybe mend the bridge with his parents or burn it down.
One night on a run, "muggers" inject him with ectoplasm restoring his powers. And followed by a scale 8 ghost attack. Danny knows someone is behind this, knows he's being manipulated. But Amity Park and ghosts are still his responsibility. Doesn't mean he has to like "going ghost" again.

Danny, Jazz, Elle aren't Fentons. Born as Danyul and Jasmine al Ghul. The full siblings of Damian al Ghul. Jasmine at the age of 5 was killed by Ra's for disappointing him. Talia had her child revived her in the Lazarus Pit. Then had brought her to a small town in Illinois called Amity Park and left her at the doorstep of Maddie and Jack Fenton where she would hopefully never be found by the League. Damien and Danny are twins and they had been sent on their first mission at the age of 5. Damian had succeeded Danny had failed, he had died on his mission, and had not even been able to kill his target first, Ra's said he was not worthy to be brought back from the dead and had ordered Talia to dispose of the boy's corpse. She couldn't and brought him back in secret as well, bringing him to the same town as his sister but left him at an orphanage instead and made him promise to never tell anyone about his past. The Fentons decide to adopt another child Shortly after, Danny defeated the former ghost king, the GIW came to take him and the lab exploded killing both Maddie and Jack and had turned Jazz into a halfa. He was kidnapped, tortured and experimented on by the GIW.

At 18 years old, Danny Fenton has more scars than he can count. But he's gotten all of them protecting his hometown from the ever-present dangers of the ghosts that haunt it, and he wouldn't have it any other way. Only, Danny is beginning to feel the burnout after years of balancing the lives of his two identities, and the hometown that he lives to protect is less than greatful towards his alter-ego, Phantom. Danny is determined to regain his confidence, but a race against time may not allow him the space he needs to bounce back--a catastrophic world-ending event looms on the horizon and it seems Phantom may soon be responsible for a lot more than just Amity Park.(In short: Vlad is plotting, Danny is getting his ass beat left and right because we love to see it, Sam drives a kickass car, Tucker third-wheels while the other two idiots figure out their feelings, a giant meteor is headed towards earth and Danny's the only one who can stop it--fluff, angst, major character damage, somewhat canon-compliant)

Danny felt the tears building as a pressure flooded his chest. Upset, all he could do was try to hold back the waterworks in front of the other man. Was he doing it? Numbly, Danny reached up a hand to his face and felt his wet cheeks. Oh, Ancients damnit, now he’s crying in front of the crime lord.
The vigilante seemed to panic at his tears, the man's cool intimidation all but forgotten. He tried to calm Danny down by saying whatever nice and nonsensical things tumbled out of his mouth, but it just ended up making Danny cry harder without meaning to.
Jason, on the other hand, officially hated himself for being unable to do anything at the sight of tears before him. How did he manage to make his pretty and tender-hearted neighbor cry?
