“Phainon?”
The man paused. His steps faltering, lowered the tablet, slowly, as if the device itself had become heavy. He adjusted his glasses, a subtle movement, and then those golden eyes, tired and blank, finally met Cealus’s. A flicker, a spark of recognition—ignited deep within them.
“Partner?” The word, an old nickname from their past, escaped him, soft and disbelieving.
Cealus’s face split into a wide grin. “Holy shit, dude! I was here to surprise you, but I didn’t know I’d meet you this early!” Relief, amusement, and a pure, unadulterated joy bubbled over.
Phainon’s eyes, wide now, blinked once, then twice. A ghost of a smile, fragile and unsure touched his lips. It held a flicker of his old warmth, a hint of the bright boy Cealus remembered, but it didn’t quite reach the golden depths of his eyes.

Jisung liked to think someone up there – maybe the stars or the person responsible for making them – purposely made sure that Chenle’s hands wouldn’t grow past the length of his wrist; a testament that just as the stars in the sky had predetermined lifecycles that fate plans out for them millions of years in advance, Chenle and Jisung were always destined to inhabit the same space together.
A hand wrapped around a wrist. The rings of Saturn, countless rocks and ice and particles and dust that circle the planet in a complete, absolute orbit.
And then he’s sharply reminded that a stars’ life expectancy completely depends on its initial mass, either forming into a black hole or a white dwarf if it were truly small enough, and his poetic ramblings lose a bit of wind.
Still, Jisung prefers some of the more lyrical descriptions of scientific phenomena, even if he happens to know a little too much about how the world works to genuinely believe them.
(Jisung thinks Chenle is acting strangely. He does a few stupid things - in the name of science - to get to the bottom of it.)

Alastor sat in the bar, holding his head in his hand. Husker kept filling up his glass with whiskey without asking questions, good man. Alastor knew that he was on the edge by having two bosses now, and didn’t want to risk invoking either one’s wrath.
Lucifer had healed him, but it has been a long and tedious process. His other self has been there as well, constantly hovering over them, but allowing Lucifer to work freely. They even bantered, Lucifer had talked with him about ducks, while healing Alastor. He wanted to snap them both out of it, he would very much like if they would address him as well, even though he didn’t want to talk about Lucifer’s silly hobbies.
He had been feeling very sick lately. There had been weird rushes of wetness between his legs and cold shivers which had turned into waves of heat. He cursed when he realized what it meant - his heat was coming early. He would need to retreat into his room for a few weeks and suffer through it. During that time he would be totally useless, too maddened with lust and unable to think straight.
