Tyler couldn't remember the last time he had felt that glowing ball of light and hope for the future. He had glimpses of it that slipped through his fingertips like sand in a tightly squeezed fist. When he was in his darker moments he liked to revisit some of these moments to remind him why he had to keep going anyways.

Basically, Tyler is going through an episode and he decides to look at through his old photos, snapshots of his life, to remind him where he started and where he's going. In doing so he reawakens feelings he had previously kept hidden.
