The Void Fluid Revolution was an epoch of progress. An age of scientific discoveries, never seen before. - The Void Fluid Revolution was an age ruled by bloodshed.
The tribal Ancients, formerly a loosely unified collective of similar interests, were blinded by the possibilities of the golden liquid, overwhelmed by the technological leap of many centuries over the minuscule span of a few Major Cycles.
They forgot their roots and formed Houses to extort the world with no regard for the karmic virtues. And their numbers started dwindling. Reincarnations found themselves reborn in the forms of lower beings, punished for their hubris and neglect. Fewer and fewer remained, incapable on their own to withstand the freezing nature of their dying planet.It was a godless era, consumed by greed and ambition.
The Ancients direly required something to believe in, something to remind them of their neglected past. A gaze back at the Great Problem, the strife for ascension.

Summary
Inspired by heroic myths and legends, a young slugcat has left her colony in the Outer Expanse in search of adventure. Her travels turn out to be a lot less of a ''hero's journey'' though and more of a ''getting-snacked-on-by-every-creature-you-come-across hike.''
But as she attempts to scurry back home with her tail between her legs, the slugcat comes across a strange creature the likes of which no one's ever seen before. It moves weird, it sounds weird, it only has hair growing from the top of its head, and it has this unnatural desire to ''pet'' everything.
With the gate to the Outer Expanse closed off, and danger lurking around every corner, the two begin to form a bond as they travel together towards the giant superstructure in the distance. In a world as cruel and unforgiving as this one, perhaps the only thing that may last is an unexpected friendship between two creatures strayed far beyond.

She was left to puzzle together her purpose without guidance or direction. Her journey of survival would take her through a complete reconstruction of herself, in more ways than one. Through modification, pain, trial and error, she must find a way to hang onto what little she had left. She wanted it so badly. Flocks wanted to live. But a fire cannot rage without kindling, and she was the only one left to burn.

Fate of Boundless inquiry, a meticulous and friendly iterator is struck with a dilemma that distracts her from the usual work. At first it seems to be some kind of mild disturbance that would pass within the cycle but later unravels to be much more dire than expected. Putting her friends at the mercy of the cycle.
To solve her issue and gather some information about what she's dealing with, fate quickly creates a special slugcat specifically engineered for reconnaissance, The Infiltrator.
The benefactors seemed to have left Fate and her friends more than one problem they couldn't fix themselves...
This is a fun little fic I'm making! It features a lot of symbolism and a very thorough plotline. Chapters average about three thousand words and will be released periodically (or when I deem they are ready). I don't have the highest level of writing experience, but I do know where I'm going and how I'm going to get there.
