Summary
“If I had,” Chris lingers on the words, watching Eddie intently through the screen, “If I had conditions?”
Eddie feels his stomach knot up. It’s the first time Chris has ever alluded to a willingness to come home. Usually he just shoots Eddie down with a flat “I know” before hurrying off the call. Eddie Diaz will be damned before he lets this chance slip through his hands.
“Anything,” his voice rings with desperation in his own ears, “Whatever you need to feel ready to come home. If I can make it happen, I will.”
Chris eyes him, young face serious as a judge presiding over trial. An apt comparison because only Chris could condemn or parole Eddie. His fate is in his son’s hands so completely that if he was going to therapy, Frank would probably be concerned. Finally, Chris opens his mouth and says something so earth shattering as to crack the foundations of his father’s mind.
“Marry Buck,” Chris says firmly.

Eddie reckons with the forces that have kept him stuck in the past on a holiday visit to his hometown. He has a choice to make, but not the one he believes he's facing down when he gets on the plane just before Thanksgiving.
Meanwhile, Buck can see the writing on the wall. This is how he loses his best friend. The same way he's already lost Christopher to the miles of distance between California and Texas. He's trapped in a cycle of loss and not sure how he's going to cope.

In which I make El Paso matter, Eddie and Chris repair their relationship, and Buck goes through a period of self-discovery. Could all of their introspection lead Buck and Eddie to come crashing back together in a new way?

Summary
Buck is poking fun at the others about the firefighter calendar when Chimney cuts off their razzing with-
“Okay, that is a beautiful man.”
Before Buck can even turn around to see, Hen is chiming in, “Where’s the lie? And I like girls.”
The man in question is handsome. Tall, fit, and lean with the vanity muscles to walk a runway. If they’d been in any other circumstance, Buck would have started drooling. Behind him, Bobby is chiming in about Station Six wanting him and that he likes to be called “Eight Pack” but all Buck can focus on is the completely unmistakable spiritual flare of an unbonded Sentinel coming off the guy.
