He walked up to the statue. The center of it had a symbol that he never quite understood the meaning of. He didn’t care anymore. Scar assumed he would just be shot out of this game, just like all the other winners.
He submitted his task and felt his body recover from his fight with Pearl. He closed his eyes, waiting for him to be taken to whatever place.
But nothing happened.
Or Scar is stuck in Secret Life, and the watchers are holding him captive to keep Grian in check. There is a lot of Psychological Torture along the way, please read with caution

Summary
When Scar was a child, seeing the strings had felt like a blessing.
He’d still been full of wonder, young and not yet burdened by the heartbreak of the world. It’d been marvellous to grow up like that, surrounded by dazzling bursts of colour. Watchers. Mythical beings of immense power, their original purpose having been to guide and protect the balance of Servers. But now, their purpose has been forgotten, their benevolence destroyed when one of their own was seemingly murdered by the cruel Players of the land. Now, they are said to go about the different servers, enacting their cruel destruction on anyone they come into contact with in the name of Revenge for their fallen brother.
Grian is a Watcher, though he doesn't remember anything about it. All he really remembers is waking up in a deserted and ruined Evo, his friends missing, his home destroyed. And the only logical conclusion is that he was the Monster that caused their demise.
A Story about Grief, Love, Sacrifice, Selfishness, and how sometimes the best thing to do is Let Go.

This is practically what this fic will be. I will follow all the canonical events but still take a lot of creative liberty to the story. So prepare for a lot of lore angst and death. ;)
This is really only for fun so I don't know how often I will update as I am very busy with school and my own original writing project that usually has all my focus. But I'll try not to leave you hanging for too long.

Etho wasn't there.
Wasn't getting ready for bed, wasn't in bed, didn't seem to be nearby. He wasn't taking damage either, so he probably wasn't outside either…
Whatever, if he was with Bdubs, it didn't matter. Who cares? Joel got ready for bed before curling up in a ball under the covers. It was weird, being alone in the ship, having to sleep without the other. But it was fine. He didn't need some flighty Canadian man. He had himself, and he always knew in these games that when you're Red, that's all you have and all you can trust.
He didn't need anyone else.
… that doesn't mean he didn't miss having someone else.
. . . or Joel's Endgame Madness is a curse he can't get rid of. Maybe Etho can help him out with it.

As quicky as the lightning had appeared it vanished, and Etho pulled his headband over his left eye once again. Grian just gaped. Gem lightly punched Grian's arm, giggling.
