With the Jahad Empire and FUG on the verge of a war after the shaking events in the Walls of the Peaceful Coexistence, having just survived the attempts on their lives from both, Bam and his friends must climb much more discreetly, in deeper complications than ever with the Jahad Empire and FUG. With new allies yet also new troubles, Bam in particular is pushing himself to grow in might and skill as he prepares for the inevitable confrontation between him and Jahad, as he tries to remain strong in his chosen path of protecting and saving those who needed saving, drawing comfort and strength from the presence of his friends as much as he could.
However, Bam and his friends quickly discover that conflict is much more inevitable than what they would expect, as the Jahad Empire and FUG continue to wage war with one another from the shadows, culminating in Bam finding himself in the crossfire of the battle that would mark the beginning of the war.

On the Seventy-Fifth Floor, only one team of three can pass each test cycle. Khun's overuse of the firefish creates a new challenge: Khun and Bam now share each other's injuries and pain. When a rival team discovers this connection, they kidnap Khun and attempt to torture him -- and Bam -- into submission. With the test deadline drawing nearer, Khun's only chance for rescue is to send messages through his own pain, knowing that each clue he carves into his skin will be shared with Bam.
Alternatively, Khun leaves clues in his own flesh, Bam goes a *little* feral, and Rak wishes his turtles weren't so damn danger prone.

Bam has missed Khun.
Sure, the two of them had occasionally spoken over the Pocket during the past year, but there is something about Khun’s voice that the Pocket cannot quite capture, something that is lost when transmitting a human voice as an electronic signal. Not to mention, Bam’s memory and imagination can never reproduce Khun’s voice perfectly—it is usually very, very close, but not entirely the same.
