Summary

Having difficulties with stray life, she is found by an albino tom with an obnoxious laugh during her heat cycle. Now with kittens, life becomes even harder as The Calico tries to find enough food for herself and her kittens. Leaving Berlin, she sets off in search of fresh hunting grounds, leaving her kittens behind. With Christmas right around the corner, The Calico finally stops on a front porch in Vienna Austria, and succumbs to the cold. She finds a new home with the stuffy cat that lives there, and his frying pan-wielding mate, and lives her life now as a house cat with little worries. Or so she thinks. Exposure to the cold and ownership causes new changes to her body, ones that she does not like. And an old presence will come back to haunt her.

"It was hard to keep your guard up around someone so open and friendly and charming. And lovely, whispered a treacherous thought. It was dangerous beauty, Aziraphale tried to remind himself. Black, red, yellow - warning coloration, like a coral snake or a wasp. A helpful sign saying: Do not touch."
Basically 6000 years of Aziraphale trying to figure out what Crowley's deal is, and some of the heavenly conditioning that makes that difficult. Of course, he was largely correct to start off with - he's just over-thinking it a bit.
Note: Crowley's pronouns are all over the place in this. That was intentional, meant to reflect either how he/she/they are presenting at various points in history...but just a heads up, in case the first swap or two is jarring.

So here’s a strange thing - in Hebrew the plague of frogs visited on Egypt is described in one line as being a frog - singular F.R.O.G. (well obviously not F.R.O.G. as it’s in Hebrew but you get what I mean):
Exodus 8.5-8.6
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, `Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.'"
So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the FROG came up and covered the land.
So I got to thinking: Who would you get to call up a plague of frogs?
… and who would be so bloody minded as to take that one singular ‘frog’ literally?
