Hiatus… writers block hit really inconveniently just for this story, as in I got to a point in the chapter where I don’t know how to continue writing, so I’m procrastinating. Coming back later

Summary
“What do you like?”
The octarian soldier style is a lot of shiny, tight greys and blacks, with accents of purple and red, but how much of that was an agreed-upon choice and not just Octavio’s…tastes is questionable. She wonders what the civilian aesthetic is when they’re out of his grip.
There’s a long stretch of quiet (or, rather, as quiet as it could be in Jelly Fresh with the Squid Sisters shouting in her ears), as the question seems to stump her entirely. Her head tilts the way it does when she’s in deep thought, and she’s fidgeting in place. Something apologetic rises up on her face as she straightens herself out.
Finally, she ekes out an, “I don’t know.”
Internally, she’s stunned. Are the other soldiers like this when they’re left to their own devices?
Today is Eight's first big day on the surface.

Summary
Three had known there was a chance she would remain wandering The Splatlands after her short touch with annihilation, her frantic battle against Mr Grizz. Three had known there was a chance Callie and Marie, or really any of the idol groups the New Squidbeak Splatoon had somehow pulled in their fold, would support her.
What she had not been expecting was the offer to come from The Captain, the same Captain who was now standing awkwardly, as if expecting a reply… Oh! Right. That was a thing she should do. That was polite, right?
AKA: The smaller Three gets adopted by the bigger Three. Four and Eight are there too

Summary
“Octavio’s been hurting all of you willingly.”
She flinched. “It—it’s for a good reason,” she began, even if her mind was beginning to split into two at Three’s pointed accusation. “He had a reason for—”
“He hurt you!”
“But—”
“There’s nothing that can excuse what he did to you.” She sat up in her bed, no longer looking at Eight. “If it was a good reason, you wouldn’t have been so scared when I came to you.”
She fell silent, and the air in the room was a lot hotter, staticky in a prickly way. She remained curled up under the sheets, though the same feelings of intrusiveness from before were magnifying into something unbearable. She didn’t have anything good to rebut her with, even though she wanted to so, so badly.
Like she feared, there was a disconnect—typical squid ignorance—and Three was never going to truly understand her.
As Eight begins to settle into her new home, she starts to learn that there’s a lot of things she considers normal that really shouldn’t be.

Summary
After the grand festival, a huge war between Off the Hooks, Deep Cuts, and the Squid Sisters fans started, which eventually resulted in Marie loosing her left hand, and the three idol groups retiring. Years later, the seven are reminiscing on their past and unanimously agree to return to the Idol scene. But instead of returning as their past selves, they would return to the idol world undercover, with new, fake, Idol identities.

Summary
She was…on the surface. This was real sunlight radiating from the real sky. No dome projector could match this strength no matter how many zapfish they rigged to it. No lost pigeon could sing these songs.
Her mind flashed to the squid in the weird safety vest outfit. She did this…she must’ve…brought me…here…instead of…
Her hearts wrenched all at once, and pent-up tears spilled down her cheeks, finally released. She didn’t know what to think or feel. The squid clearly saw she was hurting, and did the best thing she could (but they were enemies, she had no reason to help her, she had every reason not to). She spent some of her precious zapfish-stealing time just to bring her to safety…No. She made a mistake. Being on the surface meant nothing good. And most of all…she’d never be able to see her mothers again.
There was no recourse for her if she was left in that kettle, she knew, but was there any recourse for an octopus in the world of squids?
Eight’s first few days on the surface after being broken out of her octoweapon.

Summary
Her eyes meet with the eyes in the cage.
Terrified, glassy grey eyes that bulge from their sockets, an animalistic frenzy in their rectangular pupils.
Eyes that…are closer to her own than an octotrooper’s. Both framed by anemic-red tentacles with the suckers on the top rather than the bottom. She can’t see their mouth, as it’s obscured by a metal tube-feeding mechanism anchoring their head to the rest of the cage, but she doesn’t have to imagine what it looks like underneath.
Her gut wrenches. This is worse than any kind of octotrooper. Far, far worse. An octoling, a girl her age. A girl far more like her than any other octarian.
A girl who used to be like her.
Three’s quest to retrieve the great zapfish grinds to a halt when Octavio throws a hastily cobbled-together Octostomp back in her face—a move mostly to buy himself some time to prepare for the inevitable showdown, and it works. But not for the reason he expects.

Despite having been on the surface for quite some time now, Iso Padre had yet to form any kind of relationship with anyone. That is until an unexpected presence makes his appearance.
Only issue though, he is a little bit "fishy".

Summary
It was all over. She fought for herself, those who had perished at the hands of Commander TarTar, and all that had dared to follow her to the “Promise Land".
Eight had finally seen the surface she had yearned for and was ready to start a new life.
But, despite everything she had gone through with all who have been kind enough to help her… a certain Inkling that she so desperately wanted to interact with was giving her mixed signals.
Or rather:
A story that takes place after the Octo Expansion where Pearl and Marina take Agent Eight in and she does her best to connect with Agent Three. Agent Three also learns to accept help from others, especially concerning her new sanitization injuries.

Summary
Instead of enjoying a blissful Sunday morning off, Four was sent to escort an octoling from the densely wooded Triggerfish Forest to Inkopolis. What should have been a routine retrieval quickly went south. Now, the New Squidbeak Splatoon must grapple with a new foe, one that can make the "Octarian Menace" look like a pack of irate children in comparison.
They sure have got their work cut out for them.

Summary
Akikta, the last living remnant of humanity, outsmarted death; he's all that's left, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the state of Earth. Like the rest of Alterna's residents, he had a dream to see the world above. But once he escaped Alterna, he came to find the surface wasn't quite like what his predecessors foretold. After twelve millennia, life moved on and now the surface is dominated by evolved sentient sea life. To add insult to injury, practically all non-mollusks, more noticeably, mammalians, have gone extinct. Even if that makes him an endangered species, it does not deter him from his ultimate goal: to save a loved one who was thought to be long lost. With his only form of help being guidance from a mysterious man on a radio, Akikta will do whatever it takes to bring a piece of his family back and survive in this new era. Even if that means making himself out as an enemy.
