Summary
This picks up right around the time Korra is healing herself in the bathroom in the show and is fighting in shady Earthbending Matches, and getting the snot kicked out of her. I wanted to accurately write how someone accidentally becomes a drug addict, and given the link between PTSD (which Korra clearly had) and substance abuse I thought I could use Korra, someone people have a great deal of compassion for, and hopefully inspire empathy for those suffering from the disease of addiction. And it's horribly depressing...It will be very, very dark as I intend to make this as real as possible from a psychological perspective. So this story will be a retelling of how Korra got the poison out, without the help of Toph. Sometimes the things we think will be our salvation will bring hell to our doorstep. Korra is already madly in love with Asami at this point, I assumed she was before she got poisoned in canon anyway. Asami may or may not make an appearance you'll just have to read and see ;) This story will be like the title, Korra, alone, minus the bag of morphine she finds...

Was this how Phil had felt back in winter? Helpless, knowing there was more beneath the surface but not knowing how to coax it out in fear of pushing it down deeper? Ranboo looked at Tubbo, squatted down by the bushes as he was, cheeks full of berries. Patience had worked on Ranboo. It had broken through his shell at last, had turned the space between him and his partners from living tension into a soft, loving thing. This was all he could do for Tubbo. One thing at a time.

Ranboo was convinced that he and Phil were the only ones who took care of it. No one else put away the flowers once they were wilted. No one else smoothed the earth again if there were paw prints from stray dogs, or wiped the bird poop off the headstone. Sometimes, Ranboo brought paint to go over the letters with. They hadn’t been carved very deep, and over time the rain would wash away the pigment until TommyInnit was only barely legible. It was raining again today, the grave dark with rainwater and shadows. It wasn’t as inconvenient now that Ranboo could afford to get wet, but Phil looked like he was in pain again, seeming to favour one foot over the other.
