Summary
Gio had fallen into their lives at a point where the safety net had more holes than threads to hold. He was young, had the signs of a life hard won and fought through, but he tried. Absorbed absolutely anything his family would give him, even when it was nothing at all. Dark eyes, taking in any and all of the light he could just to find himself.
It was a tragedy in three parts just to watch him thrive off wavering candlelights and embers, wandering around the halls like a detective finding hints of some past crime.
Mikey squares himself. Finds that thread left in him that’s farther and farther away every day. Gio deserves the light, he can make some for him. He can.
Or: a series of standalone oneshots about Giorgio Hamato finding a home, getting adopted, and being loved back--not necessarily in that order. Set in both timelines.

When known energies begin to emerge and enemies from his past threaten this dimension, Mikey must join forces with the young turtles and his friends to prevent what happened to his world from being repeated in this one.

But when Leonardo returns alone and covered in blood hours later, something is obviously wrong. Leonardo's four children and students -- Bob, Nobuko, Miles, and Carmen -- are concerned and want to help, but Uncle Mikey wants to protect the kids from witnessing Leonardo's recent changes. However, when a disincorporated cow's head appears, promising to reveal all that has been hidden from them, the kids might learn more than they bargained for.

Without needing to be prompted, Donnie and Mikey jumped through, the latter being supported by the former as he limped along - he’d be due for a medical check once they were all accounted for. Raph followed, expecting Leo to cross over and cut the portal off once they were all clear.
What the two of them didn’t account for, however, was the shrill noise that echoed throughout the ruined station, setting all four Mad Dogs on edge.

When the Krang attacked, all four brothers had to leave childhood behind, become the leaders they were destined to be; the world's protectors. Mikey was the youngest, always told that if he were to get in trouble, his older brothers would get him out. The running gag that the youngest has it the easiest, just holding hands with the older other and following. Well, the youngest's last breath brought the Krang's reign over the world to an end, sending Casey back to save the world.
But he's dead. His time is gone, the dead timeline. He turned to glistening dust in front of his last brother and his student. He saw the end, the darkness, he saw his last brother's end. He's dead. Mikey is dead. So why is it so hard to catch his breath?

Instead of Leo, Mikey's ninpo is sucked into the last remaining pieces of the portal, and now has to find out have to live like normal again, and try to fix everything he couldn't before.
