Summary
After the Quest of Erebor, Bilbo Baggins returned to the Shire desolate, with but a little chest of riches as his prize. For years afterwards, he regretted having done so, wishing instead that he had stayed by the side of the one he loved. Yet, he knew his place. As Gandalf had said, he was quite a little fellow in the wide world. A little hobbit like him had no business being a consort to a dwarven king - it was not done.
That was why, when he and the King of Erebor met again, Bilbo didn't think once that the impossible his heart still longed for could ever come true.

Summary
Elrond had long told Aragorn stories of the elves of Mirkwood, nestled in their fir, secluded and deadly. Rarely did they interact with the other realms of Middle-earth- even trade through the wood was scarce. Most Eryn Lasgalen elves grow up never learning Westron, though the language had swept over nearly every other section of the realm.
This fact comes back to bite Legolas days too late.
OR
Legolas has a Sindarin accent and speaks slightly broken Westron. He misunderstands innuendo and forgets certain words, coming up with his own creative descriptors.

Unfortunately, their attempts end with them tangled up in a palace coup, multiple unintentional murders, poisonous rivers, way more information than they wanted, hallucinating trees, an egocentric king, and a truly incredible display of a lack of social skills, not necessarily in that order. -

Summary
In which the Fellowship has a much bigger quest to worry about. The group has broken up after the events of FotR, but one prison break, one magic ritual, and several prophecies later, they're off to destroy the Ring of Melkor and break the siege of Minas Tirith. The problem is, they're not exactly what the city was hoping for.
Pippin is presently reconsidering his life choices. Being kidnapped by the Uruk-hai, for example, was not part of the plan. Neither was becoming the vahka 'en heledh and trying not to dial Melkor every other minute. And falling in love with the princess of Long Cleeve may have been the biggest deviation of all. But Pippin rarely has a plan to deviate from, so it must be fate.
Aragorn is trying not to fall apart. He's pretty sure he's going to be the worst king ever, and not just because of the prophecies that say he'll likely bring about the fall of Middle-earth. Oh, and he has to destroy another all-powerful ring with a couple of hobbits, one of whom has a direct hotline to Mordor. What could possibly go wrong?
AU where Merry and Pippin don't escape from the Orcs, Diamond comes into the story a bit early...and Boromir doesn't stay dead for long.

After uncovering a disturbingly common darkness rotting under the surface in the Shire, Bilbo Baggins is called upon once more to travel to the Lonely Mountain. This time he's leading instead of following, and there's many many more than 14 in his caravan.
Taking so many hobbits on such a treacherous journey is stressful enough, but there is the reunion with his dwarrow to consider as well. Including the three that aren't as dead as he thought.
