Phainon's hands shook even more. "I'm just," Phainon licked his lips, tongue running nervously over the seam of his lips. "Tired."
"Tired," Mydei repeated. He couldn't help but press Phainon, unnoticing of how Phainon seemed like a nervous wild animal, ready to bolt at any moment. "You never over steep the chamomile." He said once more.
Phainon didn't look at him. "I said I'm just tired," he gritted, more forceful this time.
Involuntary fear crept up Mydei's spine. It was more instinct than rationale, at this point. He knew Phainon would never hurt him on purpose. It was the Reaver.
And yet the Reaver wore Phainon's face and hurt him anyway.

They stayed silent for a bit longer, Phainon staring at his watch and holding Cyrene’s hand while she stared at the monolith, a smile on her face.
“...One minute,” muttered Phainon. Though Cyrene held hope that he would succeed, he still had his doubts, and should he fail, he would fail everyone, now including her.
He couldn’t afford to fail.
Cyrene rested her head on Phainon’s shoulder, sitting right beside him. “I believe in you, Phainon. Please, don’t forget to believe in yourself,” a pause, “Like I said, brother, this isn’t a goodbye, this is nothing more than a see you later.”
And as she finished her sentence, the minute was over. The Seamstress had finished weaving the 24 into the monolith’s stone.

(PS, if you haven't played the game and are interested in doing so, I recommend you do before reading this, as some scenes in here will inevitably spoil many things in the game. If you have played the game and are worried I'm just putting a Phaidei coat of paint over it, don't worry, most major elements beyond the basic setting are completely different)

Including his relationship with Mydei.
