    Tony Stark knows he doesn't "flutter his eyelashes and hide behind Captain America" (JARVIS said yes, but what does a glorified toaster know?). He's a genius. A visionary. Someone who, for the record, did try to put a 'suit of armor around the world' that everyone conveniently forgot.

    Now, with half the universe gone and him back from a cosmic spa vacation he didn't ask for, he's basically held together with spite and lukewarm tea. Stuck in the Compound, Tony's forced to navigate a ridiculously righteous Captain (looking at you, Cap) whose protective instincts have gone from admirable to alarming, and a grief-stricken God who's finally stopped booming. Their combined, amplified grief feels less like comfort and more like an unexpected alpha tag-team effort to drive him absolutely bonkers with their 'help.' (Natasha, probably, just rolls her eyes and says 'no, it wasn't unexpected at all.') Turns out, saving the world was easy; living in a world undone, especially when 'together' just means 'another spectacular failure,' is the real nightmare. And don't even get him started on the 'instincts.'

    “Your Majesty,” said Heimdall, looking outside of the window as they got closer and closer to the coordinates they had received from the Midgardian satellite by the name of Veronica. “Did you not say that you were universally beloved by the people of Midgard?”

    Thor looked at him with a frown. “Indeed I did, and indeed I am. Why?”

    “My ability to read Midgardian is a bit rusty, but...” he started, motioning to where a rather large message was written over the Compound in fancy holographic letters. 

    A message spelling out: WELCOME HOME, CHEATER.

    And under it, in only slightly smaller letters: THIS IS AIMED AT THOR, BY THE WAY.

    “Uhm,” said Thor, blinking at the message. “Is this possibly aimed at a different Thor.”

      ✿ fav/memorable moments ⚠️ SPOILERS ⚠️

      • “I understand those words separately* What newborn do you speak of?”
      Tony, Rhodey and the drunk lady all gasped, Vision staring at Thor in shock.
      “You don’t... remember me?” asked the synthezoid, finally speaking up from behind Tony.
      Thor looked at him in confusion before his eyes widened in realisation.
      Too late, though, as Tony had already launched himself at Thor, smacking him in the face with his gauntleted hand. “HOW DARE YOU NOT RECOGNISE YOUR OWN CHILD! YOU CHEATING BASTARD-”
      “SOMEONE HOLD HIM BACK!”
      “LET ME GO, I’LL SHOW HIM!”
      “GET HIM!”
      “VALKYRIE THIS IS NOT THE TIME!”
      • “You had a newborn back on Midgard! Thor how could you cheat on Anthony like this?”
      “Anthony?” he asked, a little perplexed.
      “Yes, we became friends,” said Loki, smiling. “And he said I can call him that if I so please.”
      “You threw him out of a window!” complained Thor, trying to tell himself that he was not at all jealous. The one time he had tried to call him Anthony, Tony had stabbed him in the thigh. He had claimed it had been on accident, but that attack had been too quick and precise for Thor to believe it (it had made his heart flutter. Another attempt at his life, how adorable).
      • “I believe I can help you,” came a voice, and everyone in the room jumped slightly as Darcy appeared out of nowhere beside him. She was holding hands with Valkyrie (???), and smiling brightly at him.
      “Where the Hel did you come from?”
      “That’s not important,” said Darcy, waving him off. “But if you want to seduce your way into Tony Stark’s heart and pants, I’m your girl.”
      “Truly?” he asked, not unable to hide his slight disbelief at her words. While he did like the Lady Darcy, she wasn’t someone that Thor would normally trust regarding a relationship.
      She waved Valkyrie’s hand in his face. “Valkyrie has been here for exactly 2 hours and we are already in a committed relationship.”
      Thor gaped while the dark haired warrior nodded. “Indeed. The Lady Darcy is a most pleasing individual. And, to borrow a Midgardian turn of phrase she has taught me, her badonkas were not going to hold themselves up.”
      • Heimdall patted his shoulder. “I’m sorry, my King. Do you give up? You should give up.”
      “No, of course not* I thought you were rooting for our union?"
      "I was, but then he threatened several members of this 'Accords Council' when they tried to imply we should be 'tagged' and 'numbered' and told me my eyes were 'creepily hot'."
      "Understandable," said Thor smiling affably and patting his shoulder. "Still, you ever imply that you are interested in pursuing a relationship with my dear Tony and I shall have you beheaded."
      Heimdall nodded, sighing. "It was worth a try."
      • “Er-” started the Norse god, as Tony moved towards him in quick steps. He looked a little panicked, but he still automatically caught Tony when he leaped at him, holding him up with two hands under his ass. “Friend Tony?”
      Tony grinned at him. “That was the sweetest thing I have ever seen! You and Vision were bonding!”
      “What.”
      “Indeed,” said Thor, smiling slightly and ignoring Darcy. “I offered my apologies for the way I have acted in the past and, when I saw that we shared interests, saw a chance to further grow our-”
      Tony did not let him finish, pulling his face closer to his so he could kiss him.
      Thor wasted no time in kissing him back just as enthusiastically and fiercely, keeping him up with one hand (oh Tony was about to die, how could Thor be so strong? It was so fucking hot), while the other hand went to his hair.
      Tony leant back after a second or two, breathing a little faster than normal. “If you ever hurt Vision or cheat on me again, I will kill you and cut off your dick.”
      Thor whimpered (... okay, sure, a ‘being threatened’ kink. Why the fuck not). “You are so lovely,” he told him, kissing him again. “Marry me.”
      “Woah, woah, woah-” started Darcy, but Tony ignored her.
      “I’ve always wanted to be someone’s househusband, yes please!” Thor beamed. “But since I don’t have a father, you’re going to have to ask Rhodey for my hand.” Thor blanched. “Now back to nearly fucking me on the kitchen counter, please.”
      “I can’t do that, Vision is working on this counter,” said Thor, and now it was Tony’s turn to moan.
      “I love me a good father,” he informed him, biting his lower lip before wiggling out of Thor’s hold. “Find me after you’ve finished helping our son baking, King Thor.”
      “You do not play fair, beloved,” complained Thor, watching hungrily as he strutted away.
      Tony just winked at him, sending him another kiss. “You know where to find me.”
      “I don’t know what the fuck just happened,” said Darcy, looking at them a little baffled as he walked away. “But I guess we all won and congrats on your engagement, I guess.”

    ....Thor knew he was thoroughly intruding on Tony’s privacy by entering the penthouse suite of rooms uninvited, but the Dominant intruded anyway, slipping through the half open door and then shutting it quietly behind himself, following the trail of discarded belongings-- the tablet, Tony’s watch, his shoes, a jacket-- towards the huge ensuite bathroom and over to the giant bath tub.

    “...Anthony.” All the air rushed out of Thor in a whoosh when he found Tony huddled in the far corner of the bathtub, fully dressed and hiding his face in his arms, shivering in the cool air and clutching at his own skin hard enough to leave indents and closer to his elbow, hard enough to draw blood that dripped in bright scarlet onto the cold porcelain.

    Terrified. Alone. Desperately needing a guiding touch. Submissive.

    ...Tony was a submissive?

    "My darling." the Dom whispered hoarsely, as everything 'wrong' about Tony's behavior suddenly made perfect sense. "I didn't see you before, but I see you now."
