Summary
“Haste still pays haste, and leisure answers leisure; like doth quit like, and measure still for measure.”
Shakespeare’s play leaves us with several unresolved conflicts, such as Vincentio proposing marriage to Isabella (does she accept it or not?), Claudio dealing with the aftermath of his near-death experience, Angelo losing his title, etc. We, as readers, may well be prone to questioning precisely what the outcomes are. This work is our take on each of the conflicts.

Summary
Man is fallible, but God loves man with all of his flaws, and to live by Christ is to love and forgive man his flaws. Isabella has never struggled to love Creation, with all of its flaws; yet her ability to love it has never truly been challenged. She has been loved by her family and friends. She has seen her loved ones make choices that might be considered wrong in the eyes of Christ, but Isabella knows well that such things are not for her to judge. It is only for her to show mercy and compassion.
It's never been a true struggle to show mercy or express compassion for the unfortunate. She has at times been judgmental, she has had unkind thoughts, and confessed her sins and been absolved.
She has never been faced with a predicament, however, which challenges her perception of the people around her to the very core until the day when the Duke’s Deputy Angelo decrees that Isabella’s brother Claudio is to be put to death for the crime of fornicating with his intended.

Summary
"what if Measure for Measure, but *spins wheel* vampires?" A faintly modern post-canon 'what if Duke Vincentio vamp'd Isabella at the end, and also Isabella was gay' thought experiment from ages ago.
-
“You have to eat,” Vincentio says, like a father trying to force mashed potatoes down his child’s throat. His shadow licks his thumb.
“I would rather die,” she tries to say, but he doesn’t hear, and the threat is empty. They both know full well she can’t. -

Summary
"What's this, what's this? Is this her fault or mine?
The tempter or the tempted, who sins most?
Ha!
Not she: nor doth she tempt: but it is I
That, lying by the violet in the sun,
Do as the carrion does, not as the flower,
Corrupt with virtuous season. Can it be
That modesty may more betray our sense
Than woman's lightness? Having waste ground enough,
Shall we desire to raze the sanctuary
And pitch our evils there? O, fie, fie, fie!
What dost thou, or what art thou, Angelo?
Dost thou desire her foully for those things
That make her good?"II.ii
All powerful, Angelo cracks down on the debauchery in Vienna. He is unmovable in his merciless decrees until a novice nun comes to plead for her brother's life and desires long thought dead in Angelo surface.(Piece 29/30 in my 30-day challenge)

Summary
Isabella had always felt Mary's presence in her life. Had always looked forward to a life of contemplation with other women. The Duke's proposal felt less like an offer and more like a lead weight in the hands of a drowning woman. There were so many reasons to say yes. It felt selfish to say no.
