What would a ten-year-old Judas, with his whole heart believing that the savior Messiah will come and free all his nation, think seeing himself now?
“Oh yes, the Messiah came,” adult Judas would say to him.
“Did He save us?” child Judas would ask, with eyes glittering full of hope. Judas wouldn’t even know himself, what he meant by “us” – all the Jews or only Judas.
“Oh yes,” he would answer to the child. “Oh yes, He saved us, He saved us all.”
The words of the adult Judas would be encouraging and hopeful to child Judas – that was all he ever wanted – to be saved.
But the eyes of adult Judas, while saying the promising words, would scare child Judas. Those were the eyes of an insane man. Of a sinner. Of a person who could not be saved anymore.
But he wanted, he wanted so bad. To be saved. All his life. -
