Delaine, the Jumper, has been around for a long time. Too long, maybe. So maybe this adventure with the Doctor will be their last one. Who knows? If nothing else, they'll be trying to take it easy... if only the Doctor would get that memo and stop getting into so much trouble... and stop asking so many inconvenient questions.
(The Doctor, for his part, would like to know why his new companion is so Odd. And he won't stop asking until he figures out the entire puzzle - whether she likes it or not.)
Long fic, self-insert, powerful protagonist, experiments with non-linear storytelling. Part of a series but intended to be written so it can stand on its own. Focused on character interactions. As part of a writing experiment that turned into a narrative. Perks and items form the Celestial Forge (pastebin.com/35AJD9Lj) are selected randomly based on progress through the story. Ultimately an excuse to explore the technology and crafting abilities of multiple sources of fiction.
