He decided to take some deep breaths and gain some perspective. He tried to think rationally, but then again, when it came to Kelvin, Keefe couldn’t think rationally. When it came to Kelvin, Keefe’s only linear thought was what he could do to make Kelvin’s life easier, help him along, show him that Keefe was needed by his side. But Keefe let that go tonight. He was standing in Kelvin’s way. He caused Kelvin problems on his journey with God. He needed to step aside.

He looked up at Keefe, his eyes blown out with desire, his hair messy from where Keefe’s hands had tangled in it, their bodies still pressed so close together.
Yes, Keefe thought, worried all of this might overwhelm the two of them. What if they ran headfirst into this and it scared Kelvin off? What if Keefe didn’t live up to Kelvin’s standards? Being without him the past few weeks had been hell, he couldn’t lose him again. They needed to talk about this.
“No,” Keefe said, pulling Kelvin back towards him. Lord help and forgive him, he was a weak man.

This was another hard question to answer. He and Kelvin had certainly crossed a threshold over the past two weeks, and that threshold somehow put them in a bigger situationship than they were in previously. The main difference was that they weren’t denying it to themselves or the family anymore. Keefe wanted to think that he and Kelvin were boyfriends, but they had never discussed it. And Keefe also didn’t know if Kelvin was ready to be out beyond his immediate family.
