    Slowly, the world came back into view and Erik was still staring at the bright white ceiling that he had been looking at before. For a moment, he didn’t move, just staring blankly, trying to get his senses back in working order and trying to assess the situation he was in.

    There was still tubes wrapped around him, feeling to hold him down and he went to bring his arm up and start removing them but that was when he realized he couldn’t. A look down and he saw the plastic handcuffs wrapped around both of his hands, one on each holding him to the hospital bed he was stretched out on.

    Erik shows up at the mansion hurt. Charles will do anything to ensure the man doesn’t do anything to hurt himself more.

    Erik could safely say that his mental health wasn’t the best. It never had been, at least, not since he was a child and blissfully unaware of the world around him. The things that had happened to him were hardly something someone could just overcome with ease. And he was one to hold grudges which only seemed to go further in his current state.

    But, all of that aside, he was at a better place in his life now than he had been in years. He and Charles had finally worked things out and were happily in a relationship. He was teaching the children how to use their powers and training them to fight and defend themselves. The family he thought he never had now included a son and a partner and a lot of kids he had grown to think of as his own.

    So, he had to question why he was still feeling this way now, even after all this time when he should be happy.

    “You know I’d do anything for you, right?” He asked, his voice quiet, soft. There was a silence in the room, a tightrope he felt like he was walking, even if he wasn’t sure why.

    “Anything?” Charles whispered after a moment, as he seemed to realize that this wasn’t just an average conversation between the two of them. Something about it almost made Erik uneasy but he started it and he fully intended to carry it through, no matter what.

    A small, almost uncomfortable laugh left him, “I was going to say I would kill for you, but I think we both already know that,” He admitted, quietly. He took a deep breath before adding, “I think I’m in too deep, sometimes. I’ve realized that, for you, I’d even give up killing.”

    Erik loves Charles, so much it almost scares him. He’s just lucky Charles still loves him after everything he’s done to the man. But how much can the two of them survive together?
