Summary
A direct sequel to A Long Fall
Now that the Joker's gone to ground, Birdie's faced with the unpleasant task of healing from the torture they sustained in New York City. Not only that, but they're faced with the prospect of finding a way to move past the fact that Bruce thinks that they're a rogue waiting to happen. Further complicating matters is the fact that they're moved back to Gotham, they can't seem to find a way to talk to Damian without fighting, and everything else seems to be going wrong in their life. All they can do is take things a day at a time, and fight to find a way to get better.
A character study in broken birds, families, and how healing can still be possible, even when it seems unlikely.

Summary
The Team is the training ground for the next generation of heroes. Amongst their ranks: Resonance (Nokomis Avaris) and Songbird (Melody Malaya), prisoners of Apokolips's Orphanage brought to the Taos Meta-Human Youth Center, who took different paths toward their time on the Team. The first to join, Resonance gained field experience much earlier, providing her with the invitation to the League that puts her on this final mission. Sent to re-capture the missing Dr. Teldor, Nokomis finds herself on a solo mission in Slovakia. Infiltrating the small crime syndicate, the Sound Wave, Resonance is ultimately captured. Waking up without access to her powers, she is found by the League and starts her rehabilitation process. Songbird, the only direct protégé of the famed Leaguer, Black Canary, took her time joining the Team. Instead, training under Dinah for three and a half years before her time with the League's covert ops unit. Splitting their time between rehabilitating Nokomis and chasing the Sound Wave, the Team try to right their wrongs and make it up to the people around them most affected by their choices. Will they find the missing doctor or was the only outcome of the mission the destruction of their own?

The Dark Knight didn’t flinch. Instead, he stalked forward, the very image of a vampire on the hunt—silent, menacing, and far too close for comfort.
“Go back to the hospital, Dr. Johnson,” Batman’s gravelly voice ordered.
She scoffed, her teeth gritted in annoyance. As if she were going to listen to that.
Then, as if a light bulb went off above her head, a grin spread across her face. Oh, this would be fun.
Without warning, she took a step forward and spit—right at his feet, letting the saliva fly with the kind of accuracy that only years of practice could perfect.
“Game on, Batman,” she muttered, eyes glinting with defiance.
