The First Blush of Spring was saved by the apprentices and blossomed, releasing the Rainbow of Spring. The icy clouds dispersed, and life returned to every corner of Fairytopia. Once again, Elina’s courage had saved the realm.

Elina remains silent for a long time as she attempts to find the words. “I can feel them now,” she says at last, pressing Nori’s fingers to her gills. “And I can’t unfeel it. The water. Sliding in and out.” Like drowning. She presses harder. “I miss when I breathed air.”
