A black-haired duo who dressed in the same red and blue as Kai and Nya. A woman who despite being threatening had the same kind face as Cole. A man who looked as intelligent as Zane. He turns to look forward at the brown and blonde brothers. Lloyd sighs.
________________________The ninja has finally rebuilt the monastery after crystalized, maybe finally they will get a break! That all changes when a scroll sends them into the past with their parents. They must have to work with them to find a way back and save Ninjago both past, present, and future.

Summary
One of the most terrifying parts of life is knowing that anything could change in the span of a second, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. There is no controlling time, no halting the flow of it. It moves independent of any external force, no matter what.
That doesn’t make it any less surprising how quickly things can go wrong. One moment Kai is beside Nya, fighting smoothly, covering all of her blindspots like a good partner does, and the next Nokt has him on the ground several feet away, his fist pounding down on Kai’s face. She can hear, even from so far away, the horrible crack of his nose or cheekbone as it breaks.

‘Cole felt like he was dreaming, walking through a thick haze, senses dulled to a deafening numbness. He couldn't feel anything. He saw leaves rustling, but he couldn't feel the breeze. He could barely feel the ground under his feet.’
I was blown away by the love I received for my recent angsty ball of Ninjago fanfiction; Just Breathe. So I wrote another one, this time focused on Cole’s time as a ghost. While Cole takes centre stage, there is plenty of Lloyd/Morro angst and Jay/Nya/Nadakhan angst mixed in.
The fic spans from the start of S5 until post S7. It is canon compliant, but focusing on the times in between. S6 in particular is treated from the team’s perspective, so skipped over completely (although the events are eventually discussed).
TW: There is violence, but it is only slightly worse than what you would expect in canon. There is discussions of rape. The rape itself isn’t graphically described, but it comes up multiple times. I will put an author’s note at the start of each chapter that is relevant.- Language:
