It's a reader insert, but Reader is once again male. This happens parallel to other modern warfare fanfics of the series, but you don't have to read them first (but it would help understand some pairings and other things). Reader has no name, but he takes up the call sign 'Strix.' Also, Roach is very much alive in my universe.

It was not Soap’s typical mission type but with Gaz and Price occupied and Ghost laid up with a bullet in the shoulder he was the final choice. Explosions were his specialty not silence.
