A ringing noise sounded in Kon’s ears and he felt his heart drop. His roommate on his other side stood up and started screaming in excitement. Kon could feel the other man shaking his shoulders but only one thought was repeating itself over and over in his head.
Shit.
...A Selection is held for Tim to find his future spouse, much to his misery and suspect reasoning. Kon is chosen to participate, but only determined to stick around to spend time with his friends and help Tim pick the right person. He definitely doesn't want to become royalty nor is he falling in love with his new best friend. Right?

Summary
Tim doesn't expect to wake up again after dying a heroic death as a vigilante.
He expect waking up in the womb of Emperor Bruce Wayne's concubine even less. Good news is his mother in this life is still Janet Drake (and she's alive!).
Bad news is Timothy Drake is now Timothy Wayne, the third son of an emperor with a huge empire. A life-threatening position that comes with countless plots and betrayals from people vying to get the ultimate position.
Still, Tim doesn't have to fake his uniterest for the imperial throne. Waking up earlier than a donkey and going to sleep later than a dog every day isn't his his idea of a good time anyways.
He is content to skive until he's old enough to leave for his fief where he'll be able to pursue any hobby he wants without some censor raving in his ear about how indignified his behavior is.
That's until the huge screen that appeared one day in the sky, visible to every citizen of the Empire starts to sing his praises, making him a target and worse: that his little brother Duke will be framed and driven to his death soon.

There was a story circling around the kingdoms. Gotham was no exception to that. It was a tale of a hero who protected the common folk from ghosts. An interesting story for sure, but the real twist that had everyone eager to learn more is that this hero was a ghost himself.
A tale that may not be entirely fiction. What could Tim say? He was also a tale at first. Any story, rumor, or mystery that reached Tim’s ears was always a call for him to learn more. He needed to know the details, what happened, what was true or false.
In his line of work, or works, he should say, it was important to know everything. Every detail was crucial.
And Tim needed every detail he could about this story. So he had come straight to the source.

There are few things that get the hairs on Tim’s arms to rise, and getting caught sneaking out by his loyal knight happens to be one of them. He turns around, slowly lowering his hands from the window sill.
“Not at all, Jason. I was only getting a breath of fresh air,” Tim replies with as much confidence as he can muster, which isn’t very much. Not when Jason tilts his head and raises his brow like he knows Tim is lying through his teeth. His knight has absolutely no reason to look this good. “It’s such a lovely day, you see.”
There’s a sparkle in Jason’s eye, and although it wouldn’t be appropriate, Tim can imagine the smirk on his knight’s features as well. A co-conspirator in his little escapade is nothing new; not with Jason.
