Summary
This was it for the kids of the cul-de-sac; an actual, full scale, Art Expo! Organized by the Peach Creek Middle School of course. It was for all types of art: Paintings, photos, sculptures, graffiti, and even performing arts!
To make things even more interesting, schools from other towns would be coming to the cul-de-sac, including Miss Shannon's School For Girls; a private school from far off Peaceful Pines. Needless to say, the kids (especially the Eds) were planning on making it memorable.
However, things get complicated when a strange and unusual girl from said school arrives at the cul-de-sac, with her odd parents, and her very bizarre, adoptive "uncle" a week before the event.
Oh well. Nothing can go wrong, right? -

Will she be capable of handling the neediest ghost of them all when he finally shows his true stripes?

Valentines Day is quickly approaching in Peaceful Pines. While all the girls at Miss Shannon’s are getting flowers and proposals, a poor local goth is left sitting on the sidelines without so much as a prospect. The queen bee, on the other hand,Claire Brewster, seems to have more than she knows what to do with. When the town quarterback arrives to sweep Claire off her feet, a supernatural cologne by the name ”New-U” brings about a drastic transformation that changes Lydia’s misfortune. Suddenly, all the girls at Peaceful Pines are falling over her, except for a Miss Claire Brewster.
But not to worry, this new Lydia has plans to win her back.

Summary
Things have finally turned back to what passed for normal around Peaceful Pines but all is not so calm in the Neitherworld. The plot gets rolling once Lydia decides that she and Beetlejuice should catch up with an old friend, only to discover that someone, (or something,) has been actively harming the Sand Worms.
During their investigation to find out what's happening in the Neitherworld, Beetlejuice and Lydia find themselves meddling in blackmail schemes, mysteries, secret organizations, unpredictable outbursts of magic, and dodging various entities in both the realms of the living and the dead.
Matters only get more complicated when Beetlejuice is hired by a mysterious and wealthy client... who requests of him something that his precious Lydia will NOT like.
More complicated still, once Lydia learns the true source of her powers.

“Ooh, right,” Pru said, stepping over to lean on the countertop. “That guy in stripes you were kissing on the bridge. Where’d you find him?”
“Somebody left him on my doorstep in a cardboard box,” Lydia said, rolling her eyes. She realized that Bertha was looking at her now, too. “Wait, you literally want to know how I met my husband? It’s not an exciting story. We both went to the same place to mope.”

When they reached the hardware store, Bill looked up from reading a magazine behind the register. He watched Lydia lead Beetlejuice to the model-making supplies section at the back that Adam had told her about, and then returned to his reading, deciding he was disinterested.
“Model stuff?” Beetlejuice asked, glancing at the section of shelves in front of them. “All of the infrastructure is in place, so…what are we after?”
Lydia picked up a boxed set of blank model tombstones, handing it to him. Then, she selected a fine-tipped paint brush and grabbed two small bottles of glossy paint, one white and one black. She knew Adam likely had some already, but she didn’t want to dig through his stuff.
“What’s the plan?” Beetlejuice asked, following Lydia as she began to wander through the aisles. “Step one, paint some more of the names from the graveyard. Step two, add ’em while Barb and Adam aren’t here to watch. Step three, get our asses kicked for goin’ in the attic?”
“I want to see how long it takes Adam to notice that there are four stones in the graveyard, not the usual three,” Lydia said. “Consider it a prank.”

Is it unfair to ask someone to change who they are for you, and is it still unfair if they don't know who they are?
Coma/College AU: Lydia's the first person to see Betelgeuse, and he's the first person to care enough to show up for her. Neither one of them have any points of reference for this situation.
Warnings- Firstly I don't know squat about medicine, comas, frostbite, etc. I know a little about crushing waves of depression, but your milage may vary. I know a fair about getting an art degree you don't want. Also, Beej is an occasional ass using ableist language, mostly about himself.

Life is hard for those who don't fit in, and harder still for those who don't have a life.
But, in the end, things like wanting to be loved & accepted is a universal desire for all beings, right?
What do you do when you're faced with making a choice and there is no right answer?
Worse yet, what do you do when you're forced to make choices that you don't want and will alter your life completely.
This will not be easy by any means.
