“Like…what happens after all this Indigo League and Champion stuff is over?” She hesitated before continuing, her grayish-brown eyes filling with an emotion Blue couldn’t place, “Do we go back to living ‘normal’ lives? Or do we keep fighting until we’re at the top again?”
Three years ago, Leaf, the Champion of the Indigo League, suddenly resigned and disappeared from the public eye without words of where she would be going--and Blue Oak is struggling with it more than he wants to admit.
Blue has settled comfortably into his role as the Viridian Gym leader, but his memories of the past and the words left unsaid haunt him...and it only gets worse when Leaf unexpectedly reappears to participate in a doubles battle tournament partnered with her close friend.
Blue decides to also enter the tournament to fight her for old times' sake, accompanied by his overly eager assistant. But as they're forced to confront the feelings they had--and may still have--for each other, Blue realizes that the most intense battles aren't always on the battlefield.

Blue had come to the conclusion when he was fifteen and on his seventh self-appointed mission to drag Red down Mt. Silver and back home. It’d been one of the few times Blue had managed a rough win between the two of them and he’d thought, perhaps stupidly, that if he did that then Red would just leave.
He hadn’t, and the disappointment Blue felt had nothing to do with Red’s sad mother, or Gramps’ disappointed looks, or even the old churning feelings of rivalry.
It’d been simply because Blue wanted Red there.

Ash Ketchum the new Alolan champion was invited to stay in Galar with his older brother.
"After all this time, he finally wants to see me?" Was all he thought.
