But in the daytime, he's a cheerful, happy-go-lucky candy store clerk named Navy Jeż. He's happy to help anyone pick out sweets, but beyond being clever, helpful, and overwhelmingly charming, Navy's got nothing special. "Special" is reserved for Sonic.
But everything can change in an instant. Sonic learns this the hard way. Trouble brews where even he can't reach. Can someone else get to it for him? He almost wishes they wouldn't.

After the events of Sonic Forces, the Resistance members find Infinite and bring him in to decide how they should deal with him. Sonic automatically shoots down the idea of imprisonment, so a different idea is put forward: rehabilitation and integration back into society. Against their better judgement and to the chagrin of Barry, their existing roommate, Gadget takes on the job. Wacky hijinks ensue as Gadget tries to navigate the struggles of rehabilitating a former war criminal, such getting crushed by mountains of paperwork and getting into fights with said former war criminal.
And on top of it all, they’re slowly catching feelings for this disaster of a man.

Sometimes, when he wasn’t feeling so tired, he would grab one of his comics and read them for what felt like hours. However, from everyone else’s perspective, it would seem like he was reading really, really fast.
Cut to now, where Sonic was sitting on the couch directly in the sunlight. It was a nice noon sun, right where the sun was at its peak. The cushions had absorbed enough heat to feel like nice warm pillows. The perfect seat for reading.
His ear perked up. He heard a soft shuffling from another room.
Out from the kitchen came Tails.
The young fox yawned, rubbing his eyes. His feet dragged on the wooden floor while his namesakes hung limply.
