He didn't look in too much pain, and Wen Ruohan did not exactly want to remind him that he was for whatever reason bleeding pretty profusely (it was purely because it would make the procedure harder, nothing more; he could never care less if some random Lan kid ended up feeling pained), so he went for the second best thing.
He knocked him out.
Or at least, he tried to, because the little Lan moved with surprising speed to avoid the jab the first time. “Sect Leader Wen?” He said, looking a bit nervous – and a lot more angry, though he was doing a good job covering it up. “Do not Bully the Weak.” He added after a moment of silence, frowning disapprovingly.
“Yes, yes, Little Lan,” he hummed lightly. “Well, good for me that I am not a Lan, no?”
Wen Ruohan did not miss the second hit.
"... Did he say 'fuck'?" Lao Nie asked from the other side of the room, still sounding numb.
