Max Guevara deserved better.
What would have gone differently if Max’s three months in Manticore had actually had an impact on her? What if she’d kept caring about her siblings and the other X-series, rather than only worrying about a virus? I’ve kept everything else as true to the story as possible, just slightly shifted her internal dialog to one that was a little more true to Max, and let the characters take it from there. Hope you enjoy!
