    A tugging sensation pulls him to the West of Hyrule, prompting him to discover what greater purpose lies beyond his completed heroics. Here, a voice tells him to ‘join them’… but who?
    And when he does find them, how is he supposed to easily move with their already established dynamic as the odd man out? How is he supposed to endure such a new change in life?

He'd just never realized the magnitude of each number engraved into stone, usually four or, occasionally, five digits long. Both civilian and military casualties.

    He tries to imagine ten thousand people. His head spins.

    The poor guy's going insane. Well, Red rationalizes as Vio pores over the notes explaining each calculation, we can help with this, and then he won't have to worry about anything till we next reach his era!

    The emergent peanut gallery cheers. Across them, in a wonderfully poetic but unseen contrast, Sky groans.

    Sky is a Hero of Courage. Sky is also, unfortunately, enrolled in multiple post-Knight-Academy courses. It’s a terrible combination.

    “You’ve been… different, since you got back,” Sky whispers tentatively, opening his eyes once more. There is nothing judgemental in that gaze, but it exposes him fully. His tone is too soft for how the words open a pit inside of Wild’s stomach. “I mean, of course you would be, you’ve been away for a year. But I feel like there’s something else.”

    Wild doesn’t move. No one has confronted him yet on his behaviour. The worried looks from Twilight are endless, and Time had quietly pulled him aside to offer an ear should he need it, but he had not been directly asked about what happened.

    He wonders if Sky will be the first.

    “Did you lose someone?”

    Sky has a separate moment with each member of the team;. Bad decisions, fight scenes and deep conversations ensue. In which:

    1. Warrior's Hyrule sucks, Sky makes an interesting decision and Warriors is justifiably frustrated.
    2. There is a thunderstorm, a Guardian and a Lynel, and things go… slightly better than expected, actually.
    3. A vacation begins, and Outset Island's shores are a nice place to get less nice things off your mind.
    4. Being prophetic is far less helpful than it sounds, and Wind is having an unfortunate time.
    5. It's Sky's respiratory system against the world, and Twilight's big brother instincts don't falter against anyone younger than him.
    6. Sky takes his rightful place as most huggable Link, takes notes and finds out new things regarding Four.
    7. There's calm before a storm, and Sky and Hyrule do some rebelling.
    8. The storm arrives, shit goes down, and Time and Sky have a long awaited conversation.
    9. Sky, in the past and present. Everything comes to a long, sixteen-part, twenty-three-thousand word conclusion.

    The lid creaks open, remnants of dust and gloom sliding off with the motion. The plant’s glow illuminates the corroded underside of the lid. It must not be airtight then. Hopefully whatever’s inside hasn’t completely decayed over time.

    The brightbloom is not quite tall enough to cast light inside the box, so he reaches a hand in - his hand, his untampered hand, not the rotting corpse permanently fixed to his shoulder - and grabs a hold of it. Whatever it is, it’s soft, although he can feel a tear in the otherwise smooth fabric. New armour, then. He’ll have to take it to Purah to see if it is magically-inclined.

    It is only once Link drags the item of clothing out of the case that the breath in his chest stutters.

    Wild stares at the faded tunic that belonged to Sky, and can’t quite suffocate the harsh sob that rattles his breast.
