Summary
Delphini isn't a child. She has no mother and no father. There is no one that loves her, no one that can hold her or kiss her hurts away. The portrait of her mother is cruel and sadistic, forever caught in the past. Her father's portrait is different though. He cares for her as much as he can through the portrait.
Everything changes when she meets Harry Potter. Despite being her father's vanquisher, he is kind and treats her like the child she is. He gives her hugs and plays with her and is oh so kind. This, she thinks, is what a mother should be like. So she disowns her Bellatrix and seeks out her real mother as much as she can.
The only thing that would be better would be to have both of her parents together, her mama and papa. So she schemes and does whatever it takes to go to the past. She'll save both of her parents and show them that they're soul mates. She wants parents who love each other. She wants parents who love her. She wants to be loved, and that's what she'll get.

It built up slowly, like a damn being filled with water. Harry was stretching himself too far, the runes were barely holding together. He couldn't keep it up for much longer, the death eaters on the other side of his scraped-together ward knew that. Hermione was working quickly, stemming the bleeding from Ron's arm and shoulder. A testing spell hit the ward, bouncing off harmless. Harry had felt it within his bones, as he had tied the ward to himself. It was risky, but he knew he'd rather die than let the ward fall before they were able to leave. Another spell hit the ward and bounced off, the spells couldn't be anything more than jinxes and hexes.

This situation was very unusual.
The great hall was bustling with the usual saturday lunch time noise, at least as usual as you can get with umbridge sat at the head table, when harry came running into the great hall ten minutes late.
That was normal though, no, the unusual thing was he was carrying four books in his arms and his bag was bulging with the amount he had stuffed in there.
"Hermione Jean granger!" Harry shouted as he plopped down at the griffindor table, his books landing with a thud infront of Hermione. She looked up at him, baffled at the strange sight.
"When where you going to tell me about the laws of magic and physics!?"

harry gets bored during the summer before fith year and, in desperation to take his mind off everything voldermort-cedric related, finds himself with quite a bit of muggle money, the freedom to do what he wanted and teenage impulsiveness. Eventually this leads to him sat in the corner of Surrey's library reading about the three different types of sciences.
Upon realising that magic should techically defy the laws of physics, and just about every other rule of science ever, he does more research at grimmauld place.
