Ben moved through the room like a storm rolling in, the thick leather jacket hanging loosely off his broad shoulders, sleeves rolled up to reveal forearms marked with scars and bruises—battle wounds, you always called them. His jaw was clenched tight, the lines on his face sharp in the low light, eyes heavy and unreadable beneath that infamous, crooked brow.
He didn’t acknowledge you at first. Just paced, slow and heavy, like the weight of something was pressing down on him. You could almost hear the gears turning behind his eyes, the furious mess of anger and exhaustion and something else. He paused by the table, fingers brushing absently over the worn wood, as if he was trying to ground himself in the moment.

“Enough bloody yappin, already. Tell us where Edgar’s lapdog is so we can end this already.” He makes a chesty show of cracking his knuckles, like he’s itching to tear something apart. Homelander notes a flash of raging gold in his dark eyes.
Of course, the fucker is jonesing on V, he thinks with a roll of his eyes.
“Looking forward to seeing his old comrade again,” he says, “and his old comrade, alone. Which brings me to the real point of our little chat.” His index finger and thumb pinch together. “I’d like a teeny tiny proposition. I mean, since you like to change the rules whenever you see fit, why can’t I bend them to my own whims, hm?”
Butcher crosses his arm, brows rumpled with impatience.
“Black Noir is all yours, Soldier Boy, just like you wanted. On the condition—” Homelander’s lips quiver (in anxiousness? excitement? he can’t tell the difference) “—that you stand down from this little tit-for-tat deal Butcher roped you into.”
Tonight, Soldier Boy is coming for blood, and Homelander refuses to fight the father he never knew. Maybe one good compromise is all that’s needed to settle the score once and for all. -

Her brother Ryan is back in Homelanders grasp, his fate a ticking time-bomb as anger and corruption seep into him. If Ryan is to be saved, Isla needs to be stronger, better. She needs to be trained by someone at her level. No one will tell her what happened to Soldier Boy after the failed attack at Vought Tower. The Boys are divided, her own father on the verge of going rogue. Isla is desperate, and a desperate Butcher knows no bounds. While her father falls into his own mind, Isla falls into obsession. Digging for anything she can find about Soldier Boy.
[story takes places somewhat after season 3 finale. give or take a little on butchers super cancer, we can blame his delayed downfall on having a daughter around]
